But would it have been overturned?

There was nothing on hotspot
A noise at a different point in time which was the ball hitting trouser

This is the problem that dharmasena has made by making such a poor decision on Khawaja

He was averaging mid 30's as an opener so they drop him and bring him back in at 6 :?

Australian cricket is surviving - just - in spite of very average management and subsequent decision-making on and off the field. Anyway, good to see a few of them get runs at last. Especially Clarkey, he will take plenty from that innings

I would like to thank the English fans at Old Trafford for giving Warner the welcome and send off he deserved.

Wickets are not always an indication of how well a bowler is bowling.
Had Cook dropped 3rd ball he bowled = NO wicket.
Bresnan misses a ball altogether = Siddle wicket.

Smart decision?
The guy missed it by a foot.
If you aint gonna review that decision, whats the point of having the DRS at all?
There surely must be team rukles in the England camp that a batsman must consult his partner, just happened to be the captain who obviously thought even tho it may have been a howler, wasn't worth the risk bcos of the incompetency of the 3rd umpire.
This non referral is more the reason it needs to be taken out of the hands of the players.
The DRS thing is an embarrassment to cricket as we all already know.

The Poms over-rate was a disgrace on the yesterday.
26 overs in both the first two sessions, so 12 overs short over a 6 hour day and still 5-6 short with the extra half hour. Not as if there were heaps of wickets falling or balls being fetched from oustide the ground. Slowed the Aussies batting down and then the Poms got the advantage of not having to face the last two overs of the day even though the Aussies had bowled 30 in roughly 2 hours.
When it is so blatant that is was one team's fault yesterday, the umpires should give the opposition the option of playing out the overs if they wish. Plus the idea that Ian Chappell has proposed for years and suspend the captain if a team is a serial offender.

Already happens, not sure if anyone has missed Test matches yet, but Sri Lanka captain Angelo Matthews was suspended (by Boonie!) for slow rates in a recent ODI series.
