I seen him at the arse end of his career when he moved to SA from WA, he played into his 40's, an honest offie that could bat pretty good aswell. He probably should've played more tests for Australia.
To have a stand named after you must've meant he was pretty handy for WA.

Dont think his career record was outstanding but he was a fairly shrewd tactician and excellant skipper. Think the stand is named after him because he won 4 or 5 shield titles in 6 years as skipper and gave great service to the State

I forgot he had the stand named after him, my bad. Sounds like the type of cricketer that was very good at state level but couldn't quite make it at the top level or didn't quite get the opportunity.
