Why would it matter for a pace bowler anyway? It's not as if it was tape on a spinning finger

I think Pietersen's argument was that it'll be harder to see the ball coming out the hand. KP being KP was just trying to ruffle Pollard's feathers.

Decent game of cricket. Our batting just hasn't fired except for dunk and it's cost us in almost every game

Put everyone else under pressure from ball 1 and we still left wickets in the shed

I think it's his lack of confidence in our lower order. And you can't really blame him

He should have bowled Pollard 18th over and not Agar - he is the one getting all the money!

Was still going for more runs a over than Pollard. It is first game and Pollard has more experience and getting all the money that's why he should have been bowling. Captain Hindsights would have to have the fine leg back when you are trying to bowl yorkers that slip down the leg side????? Time to move on Hodge and give the Captain's spot to someone else!

I'm pretty sure how much money a player is on doesn't come in to Hodge's mind when he's choosing who to bowl next.
And I'll say it again, Agar went for only TWO his previous over - there isn't a captain in the world who wouldn't have thrown him the ball again hoping he'd replicate that.

Hodge 100% cost the strikers the win last night for a number of reasons;

1) The decision come in instead of Pollard was just plan stupid
2) Hodge's innings was disgraceful, In this day and age of T20 you MUST go at a SR of at least 130-140, Hodge's was well and truly under 100 I reckon it was about 80! What this in turn does is put every single incoming batsmen under the pump from ball 1, Hodge showed no intent at all for about a 4-5 over period and that's simply where the Strikers innings went south
3) Field placement- For mine this is the most underrated part of T20 cricket late in the innings and Hodge failed badly!
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........

Pace bowler? :lol:

The only thing Pollard does with any pace is get to the front of the queue at the buffet.

Even T20 knockers like me know you don't tempt fate with something like that. His 1st over went for 18 or so as well, didn't it?
