My point is
No matter who bats 3 they wont likely make any more runs than Watson
But Watson then goes out and bowls as the 5th bowler

There were a few posters who were posting that Doolan should bat 3 and not Watson in this series

Okay. Watson would have been at 3 if he had played.

I think Michael Clarke should have a chat to Steve Waugh for advice on how to play a hook or pull shot.
For every one I miss I am closer to a hole in one.

In fairness to Clarke much like Mark Waugh alot of his dismissals look soft, yet I don't think it's because of brain fades or lack of effort

Clarke has had that perceived weakness against short bowling for a couple of years now. I dont think the Poms tested him out enough, the Saffers will pepper him all series

The series will be won or lost in this innings.

The Saffers are bowling shit and we are handing them ******* wickets.

Make no mistake the best side in the world should have the confidence to bat first all the time unless beyond absolute doubt the conditions will suit you to bowl out the other side for **** all.
....
The fact these blokes put us in especially in the 1st Test @ home they are mentally vulnerable.

If we get 300 I reckon we can knock these pricks off

I knew it
I knew it
I knew it

2ND Innings Brisbane Test
Broad bounces Clarke first ball Clarke pulls through square for 4
No one on SAFOOTY complains
Plays a pull and gets caught, and the critics are at him this innings

Come on Jimmy, Doggy your both smarter that that
If no one plays shots in Test Cricket, the game will die
Teams being 5/175 at stumps is what we want ?

WHUFC as per usual sees things the way they are

Exactly I don't like Hack Bailey nor do I like Watson as he is overrated.

5/175 aint what I want Mal unless its the opposition or we are chasing 174.
Id much rather be 1/240 at end of the day. Too many tests dont get to day 5 anymore. Nothing wrong with Clarke playing that shot but the shot was poorly executed.
The Saffers have not earnt 1 wicket today, we are gift wrapping them our wickets

Yep people are allowed an opinion.

Without doing any research at a guess I would say a lot of people on here were probably very critical of Clarke when he got out to Broad for not being aggressive enough and making himself a sitting duck. imho Clarke is a very good puller of the ball. On this occasion he didn't get over the top of it and was easily caught. I would hate to see the day a free flowing batsmen like Clarke stops trying to be naturally aggressive. Yes his been out to the short ball twice but I bet my bottom dollar his been out caught behind the wicket driving more than his been out to the short ball. Should he put the drive away as well.

For me the dismissals so far

Warner- probably to close to the body to cut, didn't bounce as much as suspected, not a great shot but with Warner you have to take the good with the bad

Rogers- got a fairly decent nut from a bowler at a guess he has never faced before. Would probably liked to have played it better but nothing too wrong with his shot.

Doolan- haven't seen a lot of him batting so not sure how he really bats. Maybe not quite short enough but was looking to be aggressive, you cant give half chances at test level.
