I'm as patriotic as the rest of us mate but the only thing that bat was hitting was ball.

The noise was after the ball past the bat. No hot spot
Hughes seemed certain he didn't hit it.

I thought I saw a hot spot on the bat after the ball went past - a faint one. So I understand how the original decision was up-held. I also don't blame Hughes as he instantaneously said review so he was pretty confident he didn't hit it.

However when you have to think about reviewing it like that selfish pr!ck Watson and the review isn't up-held then you deserve to be ridiculed.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I dont think he hit it either johno, but that noise could only have been generated by ball- pad was nowhere in sight

I just rewund the coverage on fox and its definatly after the ball has past the bat and it looks like his right(?)elbow brushes the body

The hot spot was on Hughes pants.
And coz its frame by frame the hot spot looked like it was trough the bat. If that makes sense.

Valley. I can't explain that noise either tho.

How can hot spot be inconclusive when there is no hot spot on the bat after the ball has passed

Agreed, what has to happen for the 3rd umpire to overturn it. So we are now saying do not ever review an edge because even if hotspot doesnt show the 3rd ump will back the umpire
