Bugger. That's rotten luck. Was just thinking how strong the bowling will be with Sayers, Richardson and Mennie all in form and Putland coming back pushing for selection. Will be a real test of depth - at least George and Haberfield are proven at First Class level.

Our last game is at the SCG, do we play 2 spinners ;)

http://www.cricketsa.com.au/library/03-230311_SACA_Members_information_booklet.pdf

SACA will have use of Adelaide Oval from 8 October to 14 March in each year - five months and one week.

where a major cricket game – such as a Sheffield Shield final – falls during the cross-over “shoulder” period in March, SANFL has indicated an intention to discuss such issues in good faith with SACA in an endeavour to find a solution. It should be noted that cricket and AFL already share grounds in other Australian capital cities and work closely to coordinate fixtures. SACA anticipates that these eventualities will be solved as they arise.

Cheers mate. As I thought, nothing written in stone, both parties to be flexible.

I still don't see anything that contradicts Dutchys claim the redbacks may never host a shield final at Adelaide Oval again.
As It states we would have to negotiate for access to the oval iF we made a final with no guarantees of SMA saying yes.

Which i think as a SACA member is a Disgrace. How do you think Adelaide now/AFL goobers would react if the two afl clubs had to negotiate with saca for access to Adelaide Oval if they make the second week of finals .

Non-issue ????

How is cricket going to convince AFL to change its preseason games away from Adelaide Oval for the Shield final? Simply wont happen.

As already evidenced by this years Shield Final decision, Adelaide Oval's priority is now forever footy :(

Isn't this years decision about having the grass ready for The Ashes?

Anyway, something needs to be worked out so if SA ever do earn the right to host the Shield final it is at Adelaide Oval.

Its not only preseason.
Round 1 of season proper is the same weekend as the Shield Final this year.

100% agree. You watch the "disciples of Bradman" line be recalled.

 Why are the AO membership packages promoting access to NAB cup games then?

At a guess, it probably means access to Adelaide oval, or footy park. Wherever it is played.

I remember reading somewhere that even if we made the One day final and won the right to host it the final was going to be played at Glenelg as they could'nt afford to delay the resurfacing by even a day.

I find it totally stupid but that is what i read.

I seem to remember one of the foxsports commentators say something similar a couple of games ago but I just dismissed it at the time.
