Adrian Barath has been included in West Indies' Test squad for their tour of India after recovering from a hamstring injury. Lendl Simmons, who replaced Barath for the Tests in Bangladesh after Barath injured himself during the ODIs, will return to the West Indies. There are no other changes to the squad currently in Bangladesh

Zimbabwe v New Zealand 1st Test

Toss New Zealand chose to bat v Zimbabwe

In his first Test as New Zealand captain, Ross Taylor opted to bat on a firm Bulawayo wicket which had some cracks that were expected to open up later on. Keeping that in mind, New Zealand opted to play two spinners in Daniel Vettori and Jeetan Patel. They also handed Test debuts to Dean Brownlie and Doug Bracewell.

Zimbabwe picked Tatenda Taibu - who wasn't included in the original 15-man squad for the Test with a finger injury - as a batsman with Regis Chakabva making his Test debut as wicketkeeper. Also debuting were seamer Njabulo Ncube and allrounder Malcolm Waller.

Shahid Afridi, the former Pakistan captain, has been included in the Pakistan squad for the ODIs and Twenty20 against Sri Lanka. Afridi recently came out of his self-imposed retirement following Zaka Ashraf's appointment as PCB chairman in place of Ijaz Butt. On the day he took office, Ashraf said he would meet with Afridi to discuss the situation and that he believed the allrounder still had plenty to offer the national side. The pair met earlier today and following the meeting, Afridi was back in the national side.

Squad: Misbah-ul-Haq (capt), Shahid Afridi, Mohammad Hafeez, Imran Farhat, Younis Khan, Umar Akmal, Shoaib Malik, Sarfraz Ahmed (wk), Saeed Ajmal, Abdur Rehman, Umar Gul, Aizaz Cheema, Junaid Khan, Sohail Tanvir, Abdul Razzaq, Asad Shafiq

India v West Indies 1st Test starts today...

Team news
Only two slots seem uncertain for India: No. 6 and the second fast bowler. Yuvraj Singh, Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane are contenders for the first, and Yadav and Aaron for the latter. Yuvraj is the favourite for the first, both the contenders have laid equal claim to the latter.

India (probable) 1 Virender Sehwag, 2 Gautam Gambhir, 3 Rahul Dravid, 4 Sachin Tendulkar, 5 VVS Laxman, 6 Yuvraj Singh, 7 MS Dhoni (capt. & wk), 8 R Ashwin, 9 Ishant Sharma, 10 Pragyan Ojha, 11 Umesh Yadav/Varun Aaron

The big question for West Indies revolves around Ravi Rampaul, who consistently provided them with early breakthroughs in the home season. He then had to make way for Kemar Roach in Bangladesh. However, they can't afford to play both of them because then he will have to take the place of a specialist batsman, the specialist spinner or the captain. Adrian Barath, fit again, should take his opening slot, which means either Kieran Powell or Kraigg Brathwaite will have to sit out.

West Indies (probable) 1 Adrian Barath, 2 Kieran Powell/Kraigg Brathwaite, 3 Kirk Edwards, 4 Darren Bravo, 5 Shivnarine Chanderpaul, 6 Marlon Samuels, 7 Darren Sammy (capt.), 8 Carlton Baugh (wk), 9 Ravi Rampaul/Kemar Roach, 10 Fidel Edwards, 11 Devendra Bishoo
