I saw the opener, Rajitha go off and de Silva injured himself while batting and was on 79. South Africa took full advantage, at stumps they were 4/317, trailing by 79. They scored quickly, going at 4.4 RPO in response to Sri Lanka's 396, their highest total in South Africa in test match cricket.

Rain delay in Mt Maunganui but play will resume soon.
NZ in complete control, Pakistan are currently 6/115, from 69 overs, they were 6/70.

Jamieson 2/9 from 17 overs

It took Pakistan 65.3 overs to reach 100, which is the slowest by a team in first innings since May 2001.

South Africa currently 6/493, leading by 97.
du Plessis 148*, his 10th test match hundred and he has been smoking them.

Three observations from this game ....
1. The quality of play in this Test is miles off what I'm seeing at the MCG
2. Sri Lankans have been crippled by injuries .... we have a concussiin sub, is it time for subs when other injuries occur
3. Bavuma on 71 walked on a caught behind, but nothing on hot spot or snicko .... strange.

Sti Lanka's bowling attack for this match is pedestrian for test level and the injures certainly don't help them at all, Karunaratne bowling himself and Mendis for the last hour because the rest of the attack has struggled to take wickets makes them look really bad at the moment as SA are piling the runs on with ease.
Bavuma's dismissal was really weird, he obviously thought he nicked it.

Lol, if I’m going to choke I reckon 199 is a good score to do it.

Did you see the Sri Lankan attack?
Lost the opening bowler after 2 overs, another one was injured but played on.
Faf nudged the ball around for singles in the 190's gets to 199 and 1st ball goes the big slog down the ground, doesnt get it and gets caught at mid on. It is exactly the same type of choke their country has been doing for the last 30 years. Granted it wont cost them this Test but its cost them plenty over the years

New Zealand v Pakistan, day five.
Pakistan are putting in a good chase needing 114 to win but looks like they are going to fall short of their victory target of 373 as they are currently 8/259. An unlikely victory looked a chance when Fawad Alam (102 from 269) and Mohammed Rizwan (60 from 191) put on 165 for the fifth wicket but since they, Yasir Shah and now Faheem Ashraf have been dismissed Pakistan have lost 4/19. Hanging on for the draw now seems very unlikely aswell.
