Ironic that the 2 blokes who most people didnt want playing were probably the only 2 players that can hold their head high tonight.
Well done to the lionheart and Blonde Don.
Still have massive concerns at the top though, can see us being 3 or 4 for SFA most innings

At least with the Australian team selected all the bowlers are more than capable with the bat and value their wickets.
For every one I miss I am closer to a hole in one.

May sound silly but I still think Starc was the best of the bowlers last night! ;)

Well smith hasn't actually done anything yet. Come back if he gets a 100.

I think they all bowled pretty well. They all swung it, which is a good signj.
Atherton says all the home players reckon it swings lots here.
Then Gower pipes up and says the county players reckon they havent got much movement in the air all year....make ya mind up fellas!

True smith hasn't done anything yet,

and yet its still more than any other batters at the minute,.

If smith plays he should be bowling IMO, other wise id play warner.

(I don't actually want smith to bowl)

A 100 would nice but his been our highest run scorer out of the specialist batsmen for about the fourth out of the last five times we have batted.

Behind Clarke his Australia's second best bat

If I'd stayed in the Riverland, I could've played Renmark cricket and been bowled by Peter Siddle as well.

Currently has over half of the sides runs this test.
Deserves his spot.
Id still have Warner though before Cowan, whatever people think of him he still is currently the 2nd best batter stats wise in the current side, if I was the Poms I know who I would rather see walk out at number 3 and it aint Ed

Doesnt bowl enough wicket taking balls, bowls maybe 1 unplayable ball per over and the rest is ordinary, would love to see a bit of anger in him.
Amazing what a change of ends does though, Siddle bowled tripe in his first 4 overs, think he had 0/26.
Kept looking at his run up and footmarks and didnt seem comfortable. Changes ends and looked like Dale Steyn, 5/24 off 10 and deserved more but Starc and Patto picked up the bunnies. Thought Siddle bowled really smart and changed his angle on the crease well.
Still think the bowlers gave them too much on their pads, the poms especially Trott feast off that, need to tighten that up for the rest of the series.
Need to knuckle down today and hopefully get a lead or a close deficit at worst, we cant win if we trail by more than 30 at end of first innings

And Siddle has been our best bowler for 5 years, not 5 tests.

Always thought you should play 20-30 tests before you can truly rate someone.

So you don't rate Charles Bannerman (3) average 59.75, Siddy Barnes (13) ave 63.05 or Spofforth (18) 94 wickets at 18.75?

Harsh....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Yep absolute worse case scenario we have to get to 200, it's pretty handy that the bowling attack did bowl well and Starc, Pattinson, Siddle can all handle a bat.

The TNF brand will be used for the first time in international cricket when Agar walks out to bat tonight.

Got given my free bat from them last night to trial and promote next season

So the poms want warner playing as well? Not trying to be smart, if I was cook I would take warner and his one good knock with 7 guaranteed failures as opposed to cowans occupation of the crease.
