Not sure, this was his first lean season for us wasn't it, I don't have his averages from his seasons with us. He deserves another crack, he may be past it or he may bounce back, with so many young batsmen though I'd like to see them stick with him and hopefully he finds some form.

Who do you plan on replacing him with?

Need some experienced guys to bat with the youngsters.

Klingers spot in the team is very safe.

Yep that was my first thought, as long as the selectors see value in him then I'd rather he play, and hopefully this year was just a blip for his redbacks career

With what he has done for us the last few years its a bit harsh to write him off after one bad season.

His one day and t20 form was good, maybe he could reduce his big bash commitments to focus on the sheild.

Certainly positive signs from the season, where they were within one wicket of hosting the Shield Final.
However, I am wondering whether the selectors now regret not offering contracts to Daniel Harris and Cameron Borgas. Unfortunately, Alex Carey and Sam Raphael do not seem ready for the next step yet.
On a positive note, Tim Ludeman, Travis Head and Chadd Sayers have all shown that they are capable first-class cricketers and Callum Ferguson had a pretty good second half of the season.
Cheers

Firstly, you don't get rid of someone of his class after one bad season.

Secondly, there is very little to replace him, especially seeing Raphael and Carey would be ahead of him in the queue to be dropped.

He was playing Big Bash for one of the Sydney teams, not sure if he has stayed there or returned home like 'Doc' Harris has.

Cheers

After the drafting of Botha into the side you would have expected Klinger to be a little down on confidence, as the SACA ripped it out of him, and I thought he would have a lean year.

He will bounce back though, I would think.

Dan Christian is going to play under Klinger at Gloucestershire (I think) too.

Even though Christian has a year left on his contract supposedly he will be playing for Queensland next season.
