Might have to get all five days of for the shield final

Even if we get a home final it won't be played at Adelaide Oval.

Disgrace.

Why not?

Heard the pitch is being dug up at end of next home game to get the area ready for drop in pitches

Nope it can't. Was mentioned by Dutchy on the reason to vote no discussion about 10 times.

You'll never guess the responses

"won't happen"
"redbacks will never make a shield final"
"so 500 people's noses will be put out of joint big deal"

Forethought is not something afl fans in this state possess.

We wont make a shield final, with Richardson,Sayers and Putland injured, Redbacks wont take 20 wickets to win matches.

SA last home game finishes on 10th March shield final doesnt finish until the 26th March, so would have to be delayed by a couple of weeks

It's only digging it up to put the infrastructure in. Not like the tides and moon need to be aligned to run a bulldozer and pour concrete.

The final wont be at the MCG either.
I think it's better. With the crowds 2000 people a day looks a lot better at the junction oval or glenelg oval than Adelaide or MCG

Exactly it will never happen we are all just narrow minded conspiracy theorists whose sole intent is to hold the state back.

Where afl fans are modern day free thinking visionaries.

Just ask them they will tell you.

From the SACA Members Information Booklet, so it seems the people saying we wouldn't host a Shield Final at the Adelaide Oval ever again are wrong, I'll contact them about what happens this year

http://www.cricketsa.com.au/library/03-230311_SACA_Members_information_booklet.pdf

SACA will have use of Adelaide Oval from 8 October to 14 March in each year - five months and one week.

where a major cricket game – such as a Sheffield Shield final – falls during the cross-over “shoulder” period in March, SANFL has indicated an intention to discuss such issues in good faith with SACA in an endeavour to find a solution. It should be noted that cricket and AFL already share grounds in other Australian capital cities and work closely to coordinate fixtures. SACA anticipates that these eventualities will be solved as they arise.
