Yeah agree there all talking about how 200 could be really hard to chase and then u give up the chance to get another 10 or more runs

Wade you legend. Wade averaging over 45 after just 9 tests. I'd say that's a better first 9 tests than that previous wanker and gilchrist. Haters still going to hate

If he could keep wickets competently, he may get more support.

Has Michael Clarke lost the plot this Test match ?

1
Puts the opposition in at the SCG , a place where its mostly an advantage to bat first
This allows Herath , a good bowler, to bowl last on this deck
It also allows Dilshan the chance to bowl at ALL the left handers in the footmarks
2
The run out of Hussey , perhaps Clarke responsible, but these things happen
3
Playing that shot across the line against a star spinner in his first innings disMissAL
A few Warner knockers on this site for his dismMissAL , but I can excuse Davy at times its the way he bats
Davy is an attacking batsman, we gotta accept he will look dopey at times , but he has to keep that attacking batting attitude
But for Clarke who plays most balls on merit , and can make runs playing in this fashion, it was inexcusable
4
Declares
Bird and Wade have put on 39 runs
They are picking up the some of the easiest runs of the Test match
Another 5-10 overs of this partnership and Australia can lead by closer to 200 than the 138 run lead
First innings runs , when the opposition have bowled 107 overs , are generally a lot easier than batting last
Those first innings runs are made quickly, and can demoralise the opposition as well

QUESTION
I have a far fetched question
Is Clarke captaining like this because of the composition of the team the selectors have given him ?
I say NO, but it just seems this way

Chasing more than 250 won't be easy, especially with a long tail.:-)

By the fact his batting at six I'm pretty confident the selectors have picked him for his batting.
