Controversy in the QL V VI game
Victoria had a pace only attack with Jon Holland the 12th man
VI was behind on the over rate
VI was 5 overs behind at stumps day 3
The penalty is half a point for each over
Skipper Mcdonald has told the press that he didnt want to concede 2.5 points in this comp
So to catch up Mcdonald bowled Aaron Finch on day 4
What the.....
VI caught up on over rates
FINCH 0/14 off 5 overs
that included 2 overs a the last 2 batters as well
Oh dear

I know its a neccesity to bowl x amount of overs , but itsa shame Mcdonald had to bowl the part timer Finch in a tight game just to catch up
It makes it harder for sides playing all out pace attacks

999 times out of 1000 the bowling team would get the last wicket when around 58 was still needed!

Bit rich to blame the loss on having to bowl a partimer??? Surely it's McDonalds fault for not ensuring his bowlers hurried a little more between balls and overs to meet their targets???
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.

Too bad, don't fartarse around while you are in the field, we manage to bowl 70 overs in 5 less than 5 hours, that's with 3 drinks breaks and a twenty minute tea break. Sometines we finish in just over 4 hours.

VI were 2 overs short in the game V QL and have been pinged 1 point
Mcdonald erred, he bowled Finch to catch up on day 4
He should have bowled Finch in tandem with Rogers ....

LADDER
29 VI
26 QL
17 TA
16 SA
14 NS
12 WA

2 losses to QL
2 outright wins for either TA /SA makes it mathematically still a 4 team comp
The 1 point VI have been pinged for could cost them a home final if QL continue winning

QL atitude will be interesting, do they snuff out SA and play for first innings ?
OR
Do they go for the outright and try and get the all important home final ?
I think the latter, winning attitude is the right attitude
Well, I mean look at Vics attitude last game vrs QL...

This weeks agenda
TA V NS
QL V SA
WA V VI

North seems to have taken his test form into the Shield. Do we all think he will make the NZ Test Squad.

TOP 5 batsman with 1 game to go

902 COWAN  hahaha I said he was too slow after game 1 this season
800 KLINGER no surprise
794 HUGHES a late surge
735 HARTLEY and I reckon he missed a 1-2 games, great effort by a keeper
641 BAILEY great season

Top 5 bowlers
36 CUTTING at a cheap 22 per wicket, big improver this season
28 GEORGE was a net bowler 3 years ago , when I spotted him, and predicted he could be a goodun
27 HASTINGS sensational season from nowhere
23 CHRISTIAN  called him a part timer ahem...
23 KNOWLES cant believe the season he has had, I didnt think he was good enough

CUTTING 36 AT 22-08
GEORGE 28 AT 31-93

Just imagine if GEORGE bowled 5 times at the Gabba, and Cutting 5 times at King Willaim Road
Both fine young bowlers

CATCHES
29 RONCHI
27 HARTLEY
22 WADE
19 D SMITH
14 CARSELDINE the only non keeper

Turning out to be a reasonable season for the Bluebaggers in the end. Hopefully we can dodge the spoon. A couple of good young players have been discovered this season so hopefully we can challenge the all powerful Vics and the rising Bulls next summer given a half decent injury run in our bowling stocks.

regards,

QL V WA
QL needed the 6 points to have a chance of hosting the SS final
Whatta game
WA 286...POMERSBACH 74
QL 106
QL followed on were 6/126 still 54 behind
QL 285.... LYNN 131 and the QL tail wagged again

WA needed 106 to win
1/1
2/1
3/1
4/27
5/27
6/37
QL the favourites to win at this stage
BUT
COULTER NILE made 30 [52]
And the effervesible keeper batter Luke Ronchi hit 49 * [53] only 4 4s and 0 zacs, must have played very well
WA 7/109
That RONCH has had a defining season, playing some ripper SS innings this summer

VI to host the final

VI V TA
TA 222 ...PAINE 69....WRIGHT 5/49 he still hazit
VI 382...FINCH 102 proved me wrong in all forms of the game this summer...HUSSEY 140 what more can I say
TA 114

VI win easily
And did we all notice the result pitches in the QL/WA + VI/TA games .....
Goos teams, bowler assisted pitches = SS finalists
Sadly that formula does not apply to SA as we all know

WIll start a VI V QL SS final thread for that game
