Can't believe in the most important hour in the series (once Ponting arrived at the crease) it was Stuart Broad who stood up and delivered the crushing blow. Two wickets would have put England in a strong position, but for him to go and get 4 and break the backbone of the Aussie batting line up was astonishing! I didn't rate him at all, but gotta take your hat off to him with that performance.

So where to from here? Australia need less than 350 to chase. Need to get Strauss asap and hope to clean up the rest cheaply. If they can do that, they then need to bat, bat and bat. The positive is we've got one of the best batsman in history who not only has the talent but has the determination to chase anything. Unfortunately, besides Clarke, it is questionable whether we have anyone else to bat with him.

Backs to the wall. Ashes on the line. A chance for a player to write his name in to cricketing folklore. C'mon Australia!

I've been staggered by Ponting's captaincy ever since he took on the role. One of Australia's greatest ever cricketers, but his captaincy is puzzling, lacks logic, and seems to rely totally upon hunches and guess work. He has no idea whatsoever about the right bowler for the right moment.
