+1. The only difference between the Hawks and Geelong is that we won a few close games. ******* shithouse last night again for about sixth week in a row. The Bulldogs are crap and won't make the grand final but that score flattered us last night.

Can't believe in the most important hour in the series (once Ponting arrived at the crease) it was Stuart Broad who stood up and delivered the crushing blow. Two wickets would have put England in a strong position, but for him to go and get 4 and break the backbone of the Aussie batting line up was astonishing! I didn't rate him at all, but gotta take your hat off to him with that performance.

So where to from here? Australia need less than 350 to chase. Need to get Strauss asap and hope to clean up the rest cheaply. If they can do that, they then need to bat, bat and bat. The positive is we've got one of the best batsman in history who not only has the talent but has the determination to chase anything. Unfortunately, besides Clarke, it is questionable whether we have anyone else to bat with him.

Backs to the wall. Ashes on the line. A chance for a player to write his name in to cricketing folklore. C'mon Australia!

I've been staggered by Ponting's captaincy ever since he took on the role. One of Australia's greatest ever cricketers, but his captaincy is puzzling, lacks logic, and seems to rely totally upon hunches and guess work. He has no idea whatsoever about the right bowler for the right moment.

The TAB is paying $4.25 for an Aussie win.

I seriously can't see how they are at less than $8 in this situation.

I understand your concern, but at least the Cats are in the top 4 and have a shot at the flag. Johnson is the key to how the Cats perform in the finals. I have to admit it's beginning to look a lot like a St.Kilda v Collingwood GF, but as we all know, strange things can happen in finals :)

realistically we dont want to see the poms lose say 7/50 due to the pitch this morning, would rather chase 350 on a deck not hiding many demons

Well from an Aussie point of view, we can only ask for rain at the moment.

I've just looked out my window. No rain anywhere and tomorrow is meant to be 27 and sunny, same for Monday. There is no way out of this other than to win.

And the highest successful chase on this ground is 263! It's there to be broken, is what I say. ;)

TROTT hit in the helmet by SIDDLE
Barely could get out of the way, just had time to turn his head
The ball goes for 4 Leg Byes
STUPID F....G RULE
For starters its Head Byes
Secondly how can EG get 4 runs for that
SIDDLE made Trott look bad and AU gets punished 4 runs

This part of the leg bye law must be changed
