I think Smith is getting better and better with every match he plays. People are asking Aussie players to knuckle down and score ugly. That's exactly what he has done so far. And is a perfect foil for Clarke who is batting exceptionally well

They've all been promised knighthoods if they win the series 5-0

One English newspaper is offering the Poms a £1m bonus if they can win 5-0.
Not a bad little bonus

He survived them because he wasn't out lol.

For the first time in ages an Aussie batsmen ground out a score despite not smashing the ball to all parts of the ground

If these two can survive the first hour and then Barney Warner comes in and slaps a 50 with an agressive wagging tail we could be in a near unbeatable position by tea on day 2. Not necessarily where we win but at least 500-600 would have the pommy bastards playing for a draw which traditionally they are very poor at.

Lets smash these a$$holes

The way Swann was getting the ball to grip on occasions last night as well has me a little excited that Lyon and Smith could do some damage especially in the 4th innings!

Popped one up just wide of the hand of short leg on 0 - Was 3 inches away from the bat
Edge just wide of leg slip on 1 - That's cricket, Clarke got caught at leg slip last test match
Survived an LBW review on 1 - Review showed some doubt, umpire decision was correct not out
Survived an LBW on 1 i think is was as well?
Survived a caught behind review - Clearly showed he was not out

Give the bloke some credit, got through a tough period of good bowling and is starting to cash in with some runs. Well played Smithy, lets hope he can get that ton!

Well played to Rogers as well, missed a 100 thats for sure!
