We need to look to the future, if he isnt going to be around for next ashes tour he needs to go.
Kat was dropped with better form than Ponting.

you taking the piss???? top ten maybe, no way top 3....

Ponting is a CHAMPION. Lets not forget that.

And yeah he is probably done, but why does he never get any loose deliveries early like the ball at Clarke's feet? When you're going through a rough trot, you always get corkers.

the guy is a champion... i am a massive fan, best pull shot ive ever seen... but i was commenting on the fact that 'the joker' said ponting was our 2nd best cricketer of all time... i dont agree with that...

Kallis is one of only 5 players who have taken 250 Test wickets to not have taken 10 wickets in a match.

The other four
Willis
Lee
Gillespie
Garner

look at his record, 25,000 runs with test and ODI. Only kallis and tendulker have more hundreds
In tests, he is second on ODI aggregate and third on test aggregate. He is the most successful captain of all time. People forget how good he was.
Over a 52 test period he is the only person close to bradman, I think from about test 70 to 120 he averaged around 80.
He has won the most tests in the history by an individual
I could just keep going

Ponting is a better cricketer than Kat though, let's not forget that a couple of years ago people thought that tendulker and Dravid were gone. And just lately the Wall is batting as good as he ever has and Sachin is A century from 100 100s

Amazing what lunch can do, the bowlers were bowling poor and the ball and pitch were offering up not much. They go to lunch and all of a sudden the ball is zipping around, the pitch has gremlins and the bowlers are in the right areas.

No, the computer would have clearly shown they bowled too full and were told such. Pulled it back, dried up the runs and the wickets came.

Corker? It wasn't that good a pill. He missed it by miles. Gone two years ago and now we are paying the price for using the English selection system. It held them back decades and it might do the same to us.
