That begs the question,
Is it the pitch's fault or the poor batting display and technique?
Hussey and Clarke have shown in this match that if you put your head down you can score runs, i dont think the pitch is as bad as some are making it.

I think the pitch has had a huge say. 26 wickets in 2 days i think backs that up.

The pitch is at least making the batsmen work. Far better watching this than seeing a road that sees a side make 700 plus and an inevitable draw. Nice to see the bowlers have a chance for a change. It's a refreshing respite from the batsmen friendly wickets and formats we have been forced to put up with recently. Exactly as Jim says, if you put your head down and work hard you can score. Too many T20 techniques have struggled but the wicket is not as bad as the lack of patience and determination that has been shown suggests.

Unless this game turns massively into a batsman's paradise, Australia are home.

Gotta agree. Oz to put on another 40 today, then SL to show some more application and get within a hundred on the chase.

EXCEPT

Australia seems to have this nasty habit of setting records lately. Every time I hear something along the lines of "highest ever run chase required", I get a bit itchy.

Yep too much T20 crap

Sometimes attack is the best method of defense, I think Clarke proved this with his innings, nevertheless though, Watto's shot was pretty deplorable for the first ball of an innings, it would've been a masterstroke though if it had of gone a metre wider, we're tough judges.

Too bad Paine is injured, he would be a good replacement for Haddin right now.

The wicket is certainly the cause of most dismissals, but I've seen some poor shots too.

Hard to argue with that Rod. Good post.

Most definetely, it get's annoying when they play for 5 days and still can't determine a winner.

If it had gone for four, no worries. In hindsight, I think he'll love to leave that one

A full sleeve is ok if you have 20 inch biceps and have maimed or seriously hurt someone, and are usually in prison lol
