TASSIE can he improve his keeping ?

You'd hope so!!!! Yes he can but if he's the best they've got OMG!!! One day it'll cost them especially against Australia when the quality of the bowling negates the batting of the batsman/keeper and the keeping flaws are highlighted....best to pick a keeper who you know is m,ore likely going to accept the chances....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Is Prior good enough to make the English team as a batsman alone? Unfortunately, I have never seen him play. I still think that the best option for England is to play Read as the keeper.

England need to get rid of the fascination that they need a Alec Stewart/Adam Gilchrist type player in their team. They are forgetting that the first job of the wicket keeper is to be behind the stumps not out in the middle smashing runs. This problem is exacerbated by the fact that they sometimes have frail middle order and always a weak tail

i think that is the key point- you cant afford to have a side that once they are 5 down are practically all out
from what i saw priors keeping was above the standard that i thought it would be (especially standing up to sidebottom in teh last test when he was winging it around) and he looked confident with the bat to suggest that having him in the side is substantially better than read/g jones.
