What's with the Haddin slagging? :?

It might have helped if the returns weren't miles away from the wickets for a start. Our fielding was woeful but I don't think you can point the finger at Haddin. Knocking a bloke for scoring 49 is ridiculous as well.

HANDS OFF HADDIN :x

So Brad Haddin made a start in the 2nd Chappell-Hadlee game, so what? Quality batsmen go on and make 100's...did anyone also notice how sloppy his keeping was?

In a word no, I ask you again G&W what is wrong with Haddins 'keeping?

His foot work, his hands, his give with the ball?

Mainly his hands, a lot of fumbles...and to give Haddin credit, he wasn't helped by poor Australian outfielding. Perhaps I am a bit harsh on Mr. Haddin, just a consequence of a team having a rough trot...otherwise his keeping is textbook.

BEST batting KEEPERS IN OZ

1 GIL'christ' to average 50 at number 7 in tests is Bradmanesque
2 HADDIN would have nearly been the best keeper in the world but for the freak at number 1
3 RONCHI I tipped this man from obscurity...now has the fastest domestic o/d 100[56 balls]
4 PAINE terrific batsman but made most runs when only a batsman
5 CROTHSWAITE improving and dangerous hitter in o/d games
6 DIETZ last on the lost burt also a very good batsman keeper
7 1980 TASSIE MEDALLIST would have been a star but has 'corns' on his feet.

They are all good to very good batsmen.

When GIL'christ' retires HADDIN will be at least the 3rd best

1 SANGAKARA
2 BOUCHER
3 HADDIN

PS: HANDS OFF HADDIN

Agree with all of that except saying Gilchrist's feats have been Bradmanesque. Very impressive yes, harder from no. 7 yes but Bradmanesque no.

Not until Haddin has performed consistently at International level could he even be considered near Boucher.

Boucher has taken apart far better attacks (including Australia's) than Haddin has had to face in State cricket.

You have a guy a 3 who you haven't seen? You can't form a proper view of a player from stats alone.

FRom what you hear the experts say he is the real deal. His one day average is very good. None of the guys below him are really top 6 batsman in their own right. Dhoni is. Haddin could be.

And how fast the ball goe's to the fence. Would you risk him in a world cup final.

Absolutely. He has been chosen for a reason, and that is his pace which comes in handy in power plays and at the finish of the innings. I really am amazed by the lack of understanding people have about the role of the genuine quick bowler.

I honestly doubt whether they'd be overly concerned when he sprays the ball the way he does...and also, I think if you're going to quote somebody, at least use the full sentence to capture the intention of the point I was trying to make.

I suppose in Tait's defence...'s**t gets wickets', but at 150+ kph, the ball travels a lot faster to the fence...

At the age of 45 I was still the fastest bowler in my team
Only took me 64 seconds to bowl an over.
