No amount of money or international matches could make me play for another country. I was born an Australian, I'll die an Australian.
I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run

The way I see it, Cosgrove has 6-12 months to turn it all around or he can kiss goodbye to an International cricket career. As previously stated, there is other young batting talent around the country (and plenty of it) coming onto the scene and forging ahead of Cosgrove.

The Australian selectors will not even think about Cosgrove in his current level of "fitness", that is a fact. People ask is food the problem, maybe drink, maybe lack of exercise. I think the problem is stupidity. No matter how many people read the riot act to him, he chooses not to listen, or at least chooses not to do anything about it.

Always on the piss, his an old mate of mine, many great stories to tell but clearly alcohol isn't helping the situation.

whufc, as an old mate tell him to stop pissing his career away, the boy can play ahs a great eye, but if he can't bat for more than an hour before he gets tired and then gets out he is no chance of getting a CA contract......

I agree tassie,

but a problem with all of this is that he was sort of a cricketing outkast as a teenager, while we were out chasing girls, drinking running amok like boys do, he was in his backyard nets spending hours infront of the ball machine. So now obviously he has furthered in his career than all of our other mates, who as teenagers we were belting alot more runs around than him.

the problem comes now that his a kinda celebrity sports star, the girls love him, he has money and for the first time his really really enjoying the whole lifestyle of being popular which he never was a teenager. It's hard for him to get out of.

In that case he'll have to grow up.

What would've been the point of all that practice if he's not going to take it all the way?

Tell him he'll get better quality scrags and hoo haa and social opportunities with a baggy green on his head than with a red one....

Not too mention a better bank balance and friendlier bank manager....

Trouble is, there's nobody in Grade Cricket putting pressure on his spot, so he can just cruise along at his own pace making 20s and 30s which is still better than most other Redback batsmen can do.

Lack of foot movement is his biggest problem at the minute.
