I betcha he'll be here, surely they've seen the footage and have still named him.

You would hope the ECB will now make a statement as the footage has emerged. He could be heading to prison.

I read this morning ECB are reviewing their decision, however Strauss did come out and say he will be picked based on his cricket, not on his out of hours activities.

Just saw the vision. The other bloke didn't look like he was looking for a fight. Stokes just smashes him..... Bye bye Stoka, mind you he can join us convicts now!

If the police launch an investigation then Stokes will have to surrender his passport.

FFS Ben, he's got to get some counselling cos he's obviously got a few issues after a drink or two. Might as well call the ashes over now.

Massive twist in the Ben Stokes saga.......reports out of the UK today he was threatened by the two blokes, one armed with a bottle after he witnessed homophobic slurs against two other unidentified males.

There are no excuses for that behaviour. I saw this footage of him bashing these young guys before knowing it was a cricketer and was thinking scum like that need to be removed from the streets. He should be in jail for that but no doubt they will find a way to keep him out because he's good at cricket.

Even so, he has well and truly got them retreating before he lands that big blow. ECB would have to leave him home. I hope he does come out here though - would be some good banter from the hill!

Ben Stokes' role in England's Magellan Ashes campaign is in serious doubt after the England and Wales Cricket Board declared both he and teammate Alex Hales are suspended from international cricket until further notice.

Test vice-captain Stokes was included in England's 16-man squad for the Ashes announced on Wednesday, despite damaging his hand in an incident on Monday morning that led to his arrest in Bristol on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm.

Of course he was provoked i don't think there was any doubt in that but i'm sure all of these elite sportsmen get provoked and the majority of them don't go whacking the blokes that provoked them. He has to learn to handle those situations better or maybe just be careful where and when you go out. Stokes comes across as an incredibly loyal individual and if you upset his mates hes going to have there back which is a fantastic trait but you can do that without hitting dudes. I hope he comes to Australia because he is fantastic to watch and will make the series closer but maybe he should be suspended so he can learn a lesson.
