Not that i care about Samuels, but Warnie and Berry have been good mates for many years and whilst playing for Vic really paid out on Michael Slater when playing for NSW when his life wasnt travelling well making tic toc noises as they reckon he was a bomb ready to explode.Personal thoughts after Berry had a dig at Samuels the other night and ended up in an argument,Warne was waiting for some chance to join in last night.

I seem to remember that an Australian team came in for some criticism from people in the West Indies in the early 2000s for their treatment of either him, or his brother Robert during a Test match in the Caribbean.
My recollection is that the Aussies got right into Robert/Marlon when they were very early into their career, possibly debut series. He copped a right sledging.
I know he's regarded as a chucker and has been banned for betting issues but is this current distaste for Marlon a residual from this incident early in his or his brother's career?
Can anyone remember the incident I'm talking about?

it was robert samuels and it happened during the 5th test at the waca 96/97 series. the pitch was a shocker and the windies won in under 3 days

Warne, after the game, said "What am I supposed to do when someone throws a bat at me?"

Does the bloke who formerly looked like Shane Warne realize he started it all by throwing the ball at Samuels? Sure, Samuels should not have grabbed Hussey, but itwasn't a tackle or holding of Husseys shirt, it was pretty innocuous really.

I've seen enough of the bloke who used to look like Shane Warne, publicity whore.

Would have been very sensitive to any Jane related comments at that point in time, but I'm sure he fired the odd shot below the belt in his time too.

For sure and understandably so, but who's to say Sarwan even knew his wife was crook? Certainly some things have to be off-limits, but don't dish and not take.

Think it was after her initial bout and before the next lot that claimed her life.

I thought it was before her cancer? Not sure why McGrath got so upset and threatened Sarwan as he started it with his comment! Maybe he couldn't handle the great comeback line?

McGrath didn't have the best form when it came to sledging- got carved up a few times on the return. He asked some questions of the batsmen, didn't enjoy the replies..

I can't believe how much of a joke Warnie is now. Resorting to piling on Samuels and then saying he didn't mean to throw the ball into him. I understand the vast majority of Warne's contract is for marketing but think this looks a little too desperate. To paraphrase the great PJK, "I'm not interested in painted, perfumed jiggalos".

McGrath's comment to Sarwan was below the belt (the rumour at the time was that Sarwan was gay) and he got it back with interest and then spat the dummy.

Warne joins McGrath and Lillee in looking like tools during a sledge. Warne would have come off better if he didn't lie to the interviewer after the game (much like Lillee).

I think you can seriously compare Shane Warne to WG Grace, the giant of his day.
Both brilliant cricketers with a rebellious streak, who dominated the game in their day and played on well into their lives. They both were happy to insolently step over the line and plead ignorance. They knew the value of a headline, good or bad and often the supporters of their teams turned against them for their behaviours.
Also both, at times, were large sized men. Grace was skinny at the start, fat at the end. Warne vice versa.

Warne never had a beard. Grace never dyed his hair, sexted or wore an ear ring.

Page one, someone said Samuels can't bat.

Believe he averaged 80 in Test cricket for 2012.

Tosser yes, but he can bat.

Played 13 tests in 2012 and 8 of them were against NZ and the Bangers.
Made 260 in 1 innings against the Bangers, so that will prop up his average.
Still has a crap average in the mid 30's alltime, he is no good
