Siddle hasn't played for years nothing different. Warner having a rest for two one dayers i think and thats it

Sorry, I should add that Siddle has not played one dayers for a while, but he should be, Warner though, why should he rest?

Even more baffling with all this is that Clarke has clearly played injured for the last two Tests. How can the performance managers justify that?

LMAO, leaving Mike Hussey out with an eye to the future whilst including Haddin and D.Hussey

On a very serious note, has a worse player than George Bailey ever captained Australia in any form? Even Cameron Shite is better. Clearly picking a captain first then the rest of the team. There players in his state side that are much better but haven't been picked not to mention the large number of players around the country who have him covered easily. WTF is going on?

It's because the Test matches are viewed as more important than ODI's and rightly so.

Also, the rotation of players in ODI's has been happening for 15 years, nothing new.

Think you'll find Bailey is our leading run scorer in ODI's since he has come into the side. Can bat and can captain!

He might be able to captain and might be able to bat but he's not even close to being in the top 6 limited overs batsmen in the country. Not even close! Watch him hide himself from the tough bowling in tight situations and pop up when the side is well in front. As Stuart MacGill says, he is clearly being picked as a captain not on merit as a batsman.

Real happy they picked Finch and not happy they picked Steve Smith. Clint McKay goes alright in the one day format, so I don't really have a problem with his selection. It'll be interesting to see how Ben Cutting goes, has been close to selection for awhile now and now gets his chance.

CHANNEL 9 is furious that Australia has picked a second string one-day side to begin the five-match series against Sri Lanka.

Just three players from the Test team that beat Sri Lanka by five wickets in Sydney yesterday for a 3-0 clean sweep have been chosen for the first two one-day matches.

Mitchell Johnson, Mitchell Starc and Phil Hughes are the only survivors, with the most controversial decision to rest explosive batting star David Warner.

Absolute disgrace that Hussey has been dropped from the ODI team.
Being a professional cricketer, he'd have every right to sue Cricket Australia for wrongful dismissel surely unless their contract states that they forfeit that right once they sign it.

What's Cricket Australia's rationale with this, I don't get it??? ODI crowds are down and yet they aren't really interested in doing anything to address the situation

Pick your best international side at all times when fit. Can't blame the players, as it's obvious they want to play.

Agree that Maxwell is a spud. Just a slogger who bowls some off breaks. Every park cricketer who can't bowl does the same thing in the nets. Bowl rubbish off breaks cos it's a short run up.

SOK is a good cricketer but Doherty has him covered as a limited overs bowler. SOK a much better bat but Doherty can keep the runs down much better which after all is what he is there for.

ODI's have lost most of their relevance, with the introduction of T20.
Fine for me, I only maintain an interest in Test Cricket now.

Come on Rooster Rod and Redleg Jimmy
How can you call Glenn Maxwell a complete spud ?
Ball , can agree
Batting , absolutely not

His bowling is way below par, but some of his batting in ODI has been excellent so far
Some of his batting in the ODI series against the Pakis was some of the best Ive seen against spin
Maxwhirrrrrls batting in 2 of those games were instrumental in winning the games , and the series

Maxwell is good enough to be a batsman
If he bowls and picks up a wicket or 2 thats a bonus

Glenn Maxwell the batsman, has the ability to play 50 X ODI and might become a star
