I would like to see watson open. But also I like having the option of him as a bowler. It allows us to play the spinner.

As for someone who said cowan was under pressure???? really seems to be going well at the moment.

Bowling wise. WTF is happening to our quicks?

That was probably me about Cowan I agree his going really well, my point more was if Khawaja was to do something exceptional like a big hungy, out of Warner, Hughes, Cowan my gut feel is Cowan would be the first to go. I saw an interview with Inverity(?) and he couldn't speak any higher about Hughes and there is no way Warner will be dropped if only because of his marketability

Yeah!!!

umm i think the reason they ask the fielder and not the batsmen is because the fielder is in a better position than the batsmen to know whether he caught it or not.

What a w***ker Sunil!!

I Really dont get all this talk about how Watson has to bat down the order because we need his bowling,
IMO the higher he bats the longer he gets to recover after being dismissed, if he bats 6, he will be batting with the tail on a regular basis and quite often will be the last man standing ala Mike Hussey, if thats the case he will have to sprint off the field and have minimal time to get ready to bowl which i think will cause more injury.

Watson
Warner
Cowan
Hughes
Clarke / Uzzi
Hussey
Wade
Johnson
Starc
Siddle
Lyon

But if they bowl first i thik they are worried if he bowls 25 overs then has to open the batting.

Lol. It really hampered the careers of Akram, Dev, Botham, Hadlee etc. Lots of evidence to say Watson's body is too fragile for test cricket though.

Not sure how long some of you lot have been following cricket.

Shows how good Kallis is. Never heard any talk of where he should bat, or how much he bowls.

Should add Flintoff too the list also.

Hahaha, just making a smart ass coment towards old mate TSG
as i was only born in the 90s i didnt see a lot of the blokes he mentioned but considering possibly the best all rounder of all time spent a large part of his career batting at 3 it obviously didnt effect him. as for watson his stats speak for them self he should be at the top of the order

IMO it was not long ago, Watson was destroying attacks left right and centre, although not getting the big 100s he possibly should have, he was making a good contribution, then when moved down the order is struggling and people are on his case.
i draw some comparisons to Michael Clark, he is making huge runs at 5 but everyone is saying he should be batting at 4, why change something that was working well.

Very true but Kallis had the luxury of establishing himself batting at number 6 and then slowly moved up the order as his career went on.

Debuted in this batting line up

Kirsten
Hudson
Cronje
Callinun
Rhodes
Kallis
McMillan
Richardson

To be fair Kallis is a freak, best cricketer I've ever seen.
