But having said that, I dont think he is good enough at Test Level

Well there you go then, the selectors don't either. Mystery solved.

So, what's it paying for Phil Hughes' first dismissal to be an edge to the slips?

When you get picked to play tests and play against the best, you have to perform from the word go pretty much and he got a pair here in Adelaide.

If I had time I could post about 100 + Test Cricketers who have had good Test Careers after failing early in their careers

Should we have sacked Don Bradman after 1 Test ?

What about players who had good starts but were dropped and never reconsidered after a dry spell?

Quiney - 55 FC matches, 7x100s, ave 36.48..

.. pretty sure Gooch would've had a better FC record before his debut to justify selection ;)

Im a Robbie Quiney fan
BUT
How does a 30 year old with a modest First Class record get selected in the first place ?

How they picked Robbie was derrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
How they dropped Robbie was derrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

How does Fab Phil Hughes feel ?
A couple of failures in the First Test and ?

There is some talk that Quiney was picked for the SA series to protect Hughes from their world class fast bowlers and let him start and build confidence against SL.
Hi, My name is Ron 'Bluey' Dunn. Did you know I played in the 61 & 62 Tasman Premiership sides....

I see Scott Henry made an unbeaten 207 opening the batting against the Lankans, not a bad effort for a laf who has only played a handfull of first class matches
