Great money spinner that shield cricket, free entry and will still get a at least 70 specators. Go and eat a lemon.

I prefer the longer more patient and strategic version but T20 is here to stay and has attracted a new audience at the expense of nothing, there is still the same amount of test and shield cricket being played.

Cricket is the greatest game in the world regardless of what version, that's probably what enhances it even more.

It's like playing 4 x T20 matches in a day, 4 days in a row. Very exciting new "brand".

Maths not your strong point? Since when have shield games been 160 overs in a day?

It's been some time since a shield game has been on, I forgot the format altogether. ;)

Still a better side on paper than our lot.
Rogers is high on run scorers for season and Herrick is the leading wicket taker

Exciting game coming up with all the new players getting a shot. I think we need to establish 4 new players by seasons end that are capable of shield cricket.

Possible starting XI for next season

?
?
Klinger
Cooper
Ferguson
Christian
?
?
Richardson
Putland/Haberfield
George

Richo should play ahead of Mennie once the kid matures. We need a wicketkeeper as crossy is a bandaid not a solution. Harris is ok, but would like to see someone 10 years younger given a go. Don't think Haberfield and Putland can play in the same team as the batting depth would be too thin with George at 11. Lyon won't be available enough and OB is a short form player so if this Williams feller can snag a few and hold a bat he can play at 8 or 9 with richo. Need a new opening pair. One that can stay together for 10 years and maybe smith and stray are it? Not all doom and gloom, just need to add to the core 4 batsmen and we should be ok

Kelvin Smith/James Smith/Thornton
Klinger
Trav Head
Cooper
Ferguson
Stray/Borgas
Christian
(keeper) - Tim Davey or quality interstate recruit that can hopefully bat higher
Richardson
Putland/Haberfield
George

Extra batsmen ahead of the spinner? Borgas seems a much more rounded player but can't get a look in anymore

And nor he should. He's already had ample opportunities and he's failed to take them.

Well there really arent any good spinners in the state, highlighted by the selection of Cam Williams.... if you want full tosses and long hops play Bailey
