All six states start Sheild matches tomorrow with
Queensland v Tasmania (GABBA)
NSW v Victoria (SCG)

Queensland have been struck with more injuries with middle-order batsman Brad Ipson (hamstring), left-arm quick Scott Walter (side strain) and in-form opener Andrew Robson (foot) were all ruled out, the list of unavailable Bulls has swollen to 10, leaving the home side with a near second-string line-up. A big plus though is the return of Ryan Harris, who played in a Ryobi Cup match on Saturday.

Queensland: Chris Hartley (c), Ryan Broad, Cameron Boyce, Joe Burns, Ben Cutting, Peter Forrest, Ryan Harris, Steve Magoffin, Alister McDermott, Steve Paulsen, Nathan Reardon, Wade Townsend (12th man to be named)

Tasmania:George Bailey (c), Jackson Bird, Luke Butterworth, Mark Cosgrove, Ed Cowan, Alex Doolan, Ben Hilfenhaus, Jason Krejza, Nick Kruger, James Faulkner, Adam Maher, Tom Triffitt

Stephen O'Keefe will step out as NSW's 113th captain this week, determined to be his own man but not too proud to bend the ear of his predecessor Simon Katich in times of crisis.

The Blues hierarchy pulled a major shock on the eve of the season, dumping the experienced and popular Katich for the untried O'Keefe.

The 26-year-old O'Keefe has played T20 internationals for Australia but not been a regular member of the Shield side in recent years and doesn't even skipper his grade team.

NSW: Stephen O’Keefe (capt ), Sean Abbott, Tim Cruickshank, Josh Hazlewood, Moises Henriques, Scott Henry, Simon Katich, Josh Lalor, Nicolas Maddinson, Peter Nevill, Ben Rohrer, Mitchell Starc

Victoria: Andrew McDonald (capt), Scott Boland, Aaron Finch, Peter Handscomb, Jayde Herrick, Jon Holland, David Hussey, Glenn Maxwell, Clint McKay, Rob Quiney, Chris Rogers, Matthew Wade.
