They will whinge when a call goes against them.

When a dubious call goes their way (so often on the subcontinent):

That is cricket. That was the umpires decision...

If they employed that both ways, there'd be no burning Daryl Harper effigies...

Two sides to every story, India have their issues no doubt, but Harper just sounds like a whinger who is dirty about no longer being on the panel.

Surely this is big enough news to warrant Daryls version of events
Do we have to wait for Daryl Harper to have a beer in Public with Taylor Walker to make the press ?

Hopefully Daryl has something to say about this matter
His reputation is at stake, and this whole Harpergate needs finality

Advertiser Friday 15/7
Quotes from an article written by Richard Earle

ISOLATED UMPIRE POINTS FINGER AT INDIAN CRICKET

OFFICIALS
Shattered Daryl Harper has lifted the lid on his unsavoury demise from crickets umpiring panel, claiming officials abandoned him and the game has lost its soul

RETIREMENT
The respected umpire of 95 Tests said he was driven prematurely from the game by hostile Indian players and media

ICC PISS WEAK
His position is untenable when the ICC failed to address public criticism from Indian skipper Dhoni, aggressive on field behaviour of players and erroneous claims he made 9 errors in the first Test

DHONI
Dhonis has allegedly reported to have claimed at a post match press conference that if the right decisions had been made, he would have been in his hotel room earlier
Harper revealed Dhoni had said on field ""weve had issues with you before Daryl "' and was disMAYed another Indian player called for his sacking

ICC PISS WEAK
Harper "" If it happened on my watch, Id take action""
""If it happened after my watch, after the game is over, I expected the ICC- the controlling body, to do some controlling.""

HARPERS ERRORS V INDIA
Harper conceded he made 2 errors in the First Test
He said he had made 5 errors against India over 10 tests and 20508 deliveries from 2007-2011

HARPER THE LAST WORD
Harper insisted that he could not officiate in the 3rd test as he would have been required to endure unbearable scrutiny and desert his duties
""When I need to consider which team is playing and apply the laws differently for different teams, then this game has lost sight of its standards and its values.""

______________________________________________________________________________________

The main agenda in Daryls claims is that he received little support from the ICC
Well done to the Advertiser for revealing the facts

Quite simply, the ICC would have to be one of the most INCOMPETENT sporting govering bodies in the UNIVERSE.

They would struggle to run a chook raffle properly.

isnt the I.C.C just the most corrupt organisation on the planet. the indians run cricket make no mistake and they know what they can get away with over there....on our home soil its different because we play the game hard but fair. As far as i'm concerned you would have to get double the money to officiate over there to make up for the death threats and just general dangerous playing conditions. Dont blame Harper for walking away..No support from the arbiters of our game is bollocks!!!!

Some more HarperGate quotes

'' Dhoni and his team live in a bubble- worshipped as demi gods, while backed by the all powerfool board that controls International cricket.""

"" I hate to think its a trend that will develop further and further.""

"" There was an Indian player[Kumar] running on the track, Dhoni came up with the comment ,we have had issues with you b4 Daryl and said there was no need to protect the pitch as we were not in India, which I thought was strange.""

"" Another fieldsman Mukund ran the length of the pitch charging at my counterpart Ian Gould, I drew Dhonis attention, he eventually acknowledged me with disdain .""

HARPERS ICC CONTRACT
Was not reviewed in April
"" To read about my sacking on the Internet was hurtful.""
"" Id never question the ICCs right to hire and fire but over a 2 year period I had been the most accurate decision maker in Test cricket, my correct % is 94.5 and with India it was 96.2.""

Goodonya Daryl
Sad way to finish his umpiring career
However he can now watch his beloved Redlegs in the SANFL

What now for the former Schoolteacher ?
I reckons he wont umpire ever again

Dhoni's sportsmanship actions overnight did little to enhance any credability Harper had. In fact makes him look pretty foolish right now...

Please explain, what happened?

Dare i say that if an Indian cricketer showed any kind of sportsmanship it would probably have something to do with $$$$.

Any way, what would any thing that Dohni did is this match have anything to do with Harper?

What he is saying, i think, that last nights shinanigans highlight the fact that India have no concept of the spirit of cricket.
Granted, Bell cocked up, but to appeal for a dismissal in that way was ordinary. Typically Indian..Appeal for everything, and try to intimidate the umpires into making a shonky decision.
