With the new T20 domestic comp its highly likely we have seen the last of Tait playing for a home team at Adelaide Oval

dedja wrote:Tait is entitled to do what he thinks will is right for him ... but CA and the SACA must seriously look at whether his fragility, coupled with only being available for Twenty20, is really worth the effort.

What they do now with Tait and any associated contracts is up to them. The sensible thing to do now would be to wish him well but offer his contracts at both CA and the SACA to others who can contribute to the teams going forward.

For what it's worth, IMHO he is/was an overrated cricketer who could bowl quick for short periods of time and was difficult to play at times because the batsmen had no idea where he was going to pitch the ball, which was not surprising because he had little idea himself ... others may agree or disagree with that ... so be it.

The way the three formats are developing, the management of the game needs to keep up with this and offer contracts accordingly. I cant see a problem with a player (not neccesarily Tait) a limited/partial contract

Untrue. Tait has discovered that by batting for longer, not hitting it over the neighbours fence and ensuring you hail "crease" when you get to the wheelie bin at the other end as well as volunteering to help Dad cooking the BBQ you can limit your spells to two overs at a 9 year old in a day.

Backyards worldwide are lengthening pitches as we speak.

Why would he go on, just play the IPL, his g/f lives over there, as was said he basically won us one world cup, sure he wasnt that great this time, lets be thankful that we saw him at his best before injuries and an unfortunate stress case hit him

Good points, if I was his position, I would be doing exactly as he is doing, he has tried the longer stuff, hasn't worked, if he can earn a mil playing 20/20, good luck to him. I know when I was a bit (lot) younger, it hurt to bowl 100 km/hr.

Taity, thanks for the memories, hopefully the Adelaide whatevers will pick you up and we can see you steaming in from the Bradman Stand end and knocking over the top order. AND the batters at TTG say, good luck, we will miss you.

What did they say in the paper today, he's going to continue playing T20 cricket in India as well as Sri Lanka, England, for the Redbacks in the CL and in New Zealand. Plus there will obviously be the new Big Bash League and T20 games for Australia (I assume).

He'll be bowling more in future than he currently he does.

All about the dollaroonies.
