I have no doubt that we may be watching Pontings last innings ever tonight, if we lose i reckon the selectors will call time on him. Would be a sad way to see a legend go out but everyone has to pull up stumps eventually. May be the end of a few other careers aswell, tait, mike hussey and lee could all be playing final game tonight, the selectors will run a broom through the aussie camp and start rebuilding if we cock this one up.
Hope we can win and go on to win the cup and farewell these guys properly.

Their record in the past isn't great in that regard ... Mark Taylor and possibly Steve Waugh benefited from their inaction.
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

Could and should be Ponting's last game but unlikely by the sounds of things. As soon as our WC campaign ends we fly straight to Bangladesh for a one-day series too. Maybe after that? But like dedja said CA are known for dragging their heels on these things when it comes to our captains.

Steve Waugh was in a horrible run of form and should've retired after he made that century in '02 against England but played on until the end of the India Test series in early '04. Ponting should've retired immediately after this past Ashes series or at worst as soon as our WC campaign ends. His goal is to still be captain of the side when we go to England for the next Ashes series in mid-2013, I'd like to think he would be gone a long time before then but you never know with the ultra-conservative types at CA.

I'd bat mike hussey at 5, Dave at 6, white at 7.
Throws a left hander in their earlier. Dave at 6 as I think he can work it around better than white. White bat at 7 and than come in to smash it around at the end of the innings. Hopefully!

Dumb shot by Watto ... 41/1.

Punter needs to stand up here ... It's now or never for him.

Geez commentators can talk some crap.

12.6H 12.5H Singh to R Ponting1Good delivery, tosses it up high over the eye-line outside off, Ponting comes forward and drives it towards long-on for a single. Almost similar to the ball which got Ponting out in a Test match in India in 2008. He was bowled by Sehwag on that occasion for 87.....Bowlers have good memories and so do batsmen.... .
For every one I miss I am closer to a hole in one.

From what I've seen of the tournament, Arasmus is a very good umpire.
