I reckon Hughes is playing for his test spot in Sri Lanka and he is going alright.

Commentators talking about tapping one of the three (ponting, hussey, katich) on the shoulders. Hughes is helping make the choice for the selectors i reckon.
Really impressed with how he is batting. For mine, i would say see ya later to ponting and katich. Or see ya to hussey, and bat ponting at 5/6

  Didn't he save us from embarrasment in the recent Ashes series?

Are you telling me you weren't embarrassed by the recent Ashes series? :D

Has been a little slow today but his innings is what was required given its the final and they lost 3 quick wickets.

Don't worry about Dutchy Brod. He's not happy with The Kat no matter what he does. Imagine if the Redbacks had a Kat of their own.

Kat is doing whats required, he occupies the crease and values his wicket so he wouldnt fit into the redbacks gamestyle.
This could be the day nsw wins the shield, normally tas have opponents on ropes day 1, nsw has batted itself into a good position, if they make 400 they will win

And when the Redbacks batsmen do put a price on their wickets they get abused for not scoring quick enough

Cant remember abusing them for being too slow.
I get stuck into them for not valuing their wickets and not letting balls go. I would love it if we could be 2 or 3 down for 200 at the end of day 1, then you can up the pace on day 2

Abuse the SuperKat at your peril.
Blues have played positively today and will be in the drivers seat if they can put 320+ on the board by stumps.
I reckon Tassie's batting is suspect, Faulkner at 6 looks too high and I know Doolan got 100 here last week but he won't get any this game.

If you can get on the Blues after Day 1, worth a punt. Only issue is rain forecast for Day 5, but they might have it sewn up by then.
