What I've generally thought about 20/20 cricket, but in particular the BCCIPL, is that it is merely a sideshow. WSC may have been called a circus when it began, but at least the cricket was of the highest standard.

Wow congrats to Dan Christian $900K a year for the next two years.

Tait 300K? Bit of a pay cut for him doubt he will be happy with that but he hardly set the world on fire last season.

So when someone is "getting" $850,000 what does that mean....is it every year or is it $850,000 for a three year contract or what?

it is the fee for the season. I guess that they get a % per day of the total contract Value for the time they spend with the team.

The contract period is for 2 years with an option for a 3rd. After 2 years they all re enter the auction as per this year as you may have noticed that some have changed teams. Symonds is probably the most notable as he was on Deccan's squad for the first 2 years

Yes. The last auction was p.a. on three year deals but it seems this auction is for two year deals. So a player "on" $850K can earn a maximum of $850K per season over the next two years if they play every game.

There is a base payment and a match fee within the total. Play 1 game, they get base payment plus one match fee. Play all games they get the full contract value.
