i really like steve smith, Although his leggys are not there yet i think he needs to be persisted with and i like his batting, he got thirty odd in the second dig and every one is saying how ugly it was, well about time some was has dug in and got some ugly runs, he showed some ticker on day 3 and like everyone was saying it was ugly but he didnt just throw his wickey away ala michael clarke when things wernt going exactly his way, and is a very impressive fielder, IMO the selectors should stick by him and give him a chance.

Again, disagree. I thought at times he looked "ugly" like Phil Hughes is technically ugly. Different from the way blokes like Taylor and Boon sometimes made "ugly" runs when they weren't middling the ball properly, but their techniques and grit saw them get through and make a few.

You might be right mal. I am a huge fan of Hilfenhaus, but probably hasn't quite delivrered on that at Test level.

Like Punter said, Hilfy was the unsung hero. Bowled a shiteload of overs into the wind and put the pressure on by giving up stuff all runs.
That sort of bowling certainly helps the guys at the other end.
Hilfy has to play ahead of Siddle and an unfit Doug.

That is true in this test for sure, but still reckon my comment stands for his overall career so far.

Some more pos headlines...

Selection;

Beer or No Beer at selectors table?

Doesn't play;

WA appreciate Beer being left behind
Beer still not Australia's first choice

If Beer plays;

and gets carted...
Poms enjoy West Australian Beer
Swell in English middle as they get stuck into Beer

and takes a few wickets...
Beer causes headaches from Poms
English hate hot Beer

this is bad!!! :oops:
I am not talking to you for 3 minutes because you punched me in the head and it hurt and that was not okay for you to do

I reckon sids will fire at the g in front of his home fans. Smith at six is shocking.

Beer has to play, but i think haury should come back in, best of two average spinners but haury has the experience.

I think they will leave sids out and bring in beer altho id rather they drop hilf if they have to

My guess is that they will bring a spinner into the side rather than having 5 fast bowlers. I think you need a spinner for melbourne.

What Gingernuts said... :twisted:

Separate thread for Beer jokes... they're getting a bit flat... :lol:

Cannot believe Cossie mentioned, although he is the second leading run scorer now in SS cricket.

I want three changes, but the only one I see is if Ponting doesn't get up... Then it should be Khawaja, but will likely be North.
