Just what you need. More blokes who can't make another state's shield side.

Re-pot the Plant...[/quote]

Now he is one rubbish player. How did he ever play State cricket, he has 20 innings a season in A grade district season and makes 450-500 runs when after having that many innings it should be 650+. Even his old coach at Glenelg District, Mark Sorrell didnt offer him another contract. Just a shame his brother Jim isnt playing cricket this season he might be close to taking the gloves for the redbacks, he is a very good wicketkeeper.

Yes he did make a ton, strike rate was 30 odd i think haha. very boring innings as i remember. I think getting Dave Warner would be a massive positive and the Redbacks should go after him again.

LOL yes was like watching paint dry :) strike rate of 30 would have been about right I would love to see warner open up for sa in all forms & im def not a huge fan of plant's either but the fact is our opening partnerships have been the worst i have seen what our highest opening stand this year about 20?

I still dont understand what is wrong with having an aggressive batsman in the longer format of the game.
Imagine Warner batted for a full day and hit 250+, nothing wrong with that IMO

Nothing wrong with an aggressive batsman ala Cosgrove, but Warner is hit or miss, he cant make consistant runs in the short version of the game and lets be serious the bloke is a filthy hack!

It would be sickening to imagine him opening the batting in a SS game. Also i struggle to see him bat out a full day, he would struggle to bat out a session.

Yep. Hardly a native in the side. First Class cricket is in part about producing players for the National side. Constant recycling by us is not producing results. Give the younger blokes a go.

It's hard for him to get a gig when the 4 best openers in the country also play for NSW in Watson, Katich, Hughes and Jaques. Reckon he hit a double hundred in a 4 day 2nd XI game a couple of weeks ago.
SA should definitely chase him along with O'Keefe

Imagine Warner putting his head down a little bit more and scoring runs consisently.

Loved Slater's style but jeez he used to drive you crazy sometimes when he jumped into the big drive in the first quarter of an hour in a test match!

Cox is another one that needs to go.

A question for youse all my old man reckons it was Cox that let Harris go but I think it was Marsh, who's right?

lets just Blame the entire SACA management as they refused to change their policy of 1 year contracts for every player. Perhaps our coaches should be put on the same contract policy..... could save us $$$ as we only have to ride out the year then let them go after they fail.......
