Not to mention the ball that got him was pretty decent!

North is done I reckon, time to bring in a new batsman NOW, we need to start to prepare for the Ashes and I don't think North is the man to help win them back.

If North fails the rest of the series, I would put Watson to 6, and bring in C.Rogers to open. Need to pick our best side against the Poms.

I wouldn't give North another game. Period.

Agree with the rest, unless Hughes makes a miraculous recovery, in which case Rogers can churn out a few more thousand FC runs...

I have finally gotten "over" with Katich, and now really enjoy watching him bat.

FWIW, I think that his score will be close to the highest in this match, and he could just about be the difference... :D

Ponting moved ahead of Lara into second on the all-time runs list behind Tendulkar. Interesting fact in the 11 combined Tests those three have played at Lords the highest score anyone of them has scored in just 54.

You would have thought with those three widely considered the best of the "modern" era, at least one of them would have stamped their authority on the Home of Cricket...

Aust now 5/177
North bowled by Muhommad Asif for a DUCK.
Brilliant bowling as had North LBW 1st ball (hit pad b4 bat in front of middle 1/2 way up) but given the benefit of the doubt. 2nd ball was almost identical but this time was a thin edge and then into the pads. 3rd ball there was no doubt as North was comprehensively clean bowled by a perfectly pitched inswinger.

AHH, there's nothing better than watching a genuine contest between bat & ball as distinct to that bash & smash T20 rubbish.

Could not agree more and loved every minute of the contest.

See how much a ball can swing if you pitch it up SB ;)

Marcus North has made more scores in single figures and triple figures than he has in double figures.

What are you guys smoking?

North is a good cricketer. Definitely deserves to be in the Aussie team. Beaten by arguably the best ball of the day.

I bet you guys are still calling for M Hussey to be dropped...

Best Ball of the day  there was probably 50 others the same but the batsman blocked it instead of playing a loose drive. Never makes it look quite as good when you play the correct shot
