SS Final VI V QL 2010

Diabolical captaincy by Chris Simpson in the post Tea session. Chris' clangers include...

- Overbowling Boyce when Wright was keen to collar him - his last four went for about 40 runs.
- Getting Cutting to run in and bowl about four consequetive overs of bouncers just because Wade top edged ONE delivery. All that did late in the day was burn out Cutting who was then no longer an effective option once the second new ball was due.
- Bringing in Hopes too late and then he was bowling bouncers to tail enders with the field on the fence to restrict runs instead of trying to get them out.
- Leaving Hopes on when the new ball became available. He was bowling at the wrong time.
- Not bowling Feldman at all during the last session.

That twenty over spell will cost the Bulls the shield. BTW, Jimmy Maher is a simpleton. Apppalling commentary. Stop talking about yourself you rube.

Captain REB has summized how QL let it slop on day 1, and have to agree with him

QUESTION
REB and MAL have discussed whether PAINE or WADE is the next keeper after HADDIN
I reckon on performances WADE is ahead now
As an Opening batter PAINE without doubt the superior batter
But keepers bat at 7 in Test cricket
WADE is averaging 40+ batting mostly at 7
PAINE batting at 7 would not have the same average ?
Both damn fine cricketers
You have to feel for PAINE, first GilCHRIST then HADDIN in front of him as 1st choice keepers

GREG SHIPPERD
Greg Shipperd is trying to keep his eyes on 2 comps in diff hemispheres as one domestic comp winds down and another takes off.
Shopperd is the coach of the Delhi Daredevils during his norMAL off season, but a change in IPL dates means his return to the tournament has been delayed by his Victorian teams hosting of the SS final from Wednesday.

Good to see someone from Victoria stayed for the Shield Final

wade is miles ahead of paine as his keeping is far superior, paine would be one of the weaker glovemen in australia but becuase of his batting he has been given a chance

Townsend made 311 on the weekend in grade cricket in QLD i thought he would have gotten a few here.

This game may be a battle of the tails.

Watch Foxsports News last night they said the wicket was supposed to be a road, obviously that isn't the case.

One thing that is annoying
Both sides having to wear those WEETBIX logos on thier clothing
The Weetbix logo on the shirt chest area is too large
I wonder it it distracts the batsman ?

The Weetbix logos are on the jumpers and the shirt sleeves as well

The Weetbix logos are enough to send me to a Sanataruim.

Yeah it is, a South Australian road with pot holes.
For every one I miss I am closer to a hole in one.

C'mon Mal cut Boyce some slack, bowling on day 2 v day 1 is an advantage to McGain.
At least Doran isn't there otherwise the Vics could still be batting.

Irrespective of the spinning abilities of BOYCE + MCGAIN
The fact remains
MCGAIN dismissed 2 top order batters at 2 runs per over
BOYCE was bashed up by a wicketkeeper and some lower order batsman at 5+ runs per over

Despite that, BOYCE looks a bowler of the future

There should be some disappointed Qld batters with the shots they got out on.
I think there lies the difference between the 2 sides, the vics are much more disciplined.
For every one I miss I am closer to a hole in one.

QL all out 257
BROAD 82
CUTTING 35* interesting batting to say the least, but most importantly he made em
MCDONALD 3/64[25.4]
QL were fortunate to make that many as all the bolwers bowled witout too much luck

Damien Wright is a concern, didnt complete his 22nd over and may be incapacitated in the next innings

VI lead by 49
A lead of 300 should be enough IF Wright is fit, despite Dutchys enthusiasm

Bushrangers 0 for 108 in their 2nd dig, a lead of 156.

A mighty big hill for the Bulls to climb to get outright from here!
