To me this would be a balanced side.

1. Harris
2. Smith
3. Klinger
4. Cosgrove
5. Borgas
6. Manou
7. Christian
8. O'Brien
9. Bailey
10. Duval
11. George

12. Haberfield

Depending on the pitch and conditions you could look at Haberfield in for Bailey. That would give you then 3 front line quicks with Christain as for 4th seamer.
Read my reply. It is directed at you because you have double standards

There's always Cosgrove who'll no doubt get used, either way I think the team looks well balanced.

CLICKERTY CLICK
Brad Hodge needs 66 runs in his last 2 games to become VIctorias greatest SS/PC rungetter
Matthew Elliott hold sthat record with 10263[i assume that does not include the runs he made for SA]

LEADING SS/PC RUNGETTERS
1 LEHMANN
2 COX
3 SIDDONS
4 BEVAN

Ironically the top 4 have all got a SA connection

HODGE
I can confirm he will play his last SS game v New Reb Wales 18/12
Im a great fan of Brad, but is he letting his team-mates down by not completing the season
?

MCKAY
Reports are that VI are prepared to play him for part of this game
He is required to be in Perth at some stage for the 3rd test v WI
I feel this is wrong, as he would need to be replaced during the game
If he does play part time, it will be the 2nd tiime this year, the other game was vrs SA at Adelaide oval this season

ROGERS
Next AU opener
?

The Vics won the toss and are bowling. Hopefully the top order can stick around for a while.

the australian selectors have said mckay needs to rest for a game that starts next week so he cant play for victoria. if he does play teh test he will have had hardly any real bowling for a few weeks and will be expected to jump straight into a test match. mckay has had no cricket so he needsto rest but hilfy was sore and had played jeaps of cricket so he was worked into the ground - where is the common sense from the selectors?

Mckay not playing
SA 0/9
SMITH 7*[16]
HARRIS 1*[3]

QUESTION
The VI opening bowlers are
PATTINSON D J
PATTINSON J L
excuse my ignorance
are they brothers ?
if so has there been instances of brothers opening the bowling in a first class game ?
IF not brothers, has the same surname opened the bowling in first class cricket ?

MAL this is from the homepage of CA.

Fast bowling brothers Darren and James Pattinson have created history by becoming the first siblings to appear for Victoria in a first-class match for nearly 50 years.

SA have made a solid start. 0/55 with Smith 30* and Harris 22*.

I believe Tim & Neil Finn once shared the new ball for Otago against Canterbury in 1979/80.

Fast bowling brothers Darren and James Pattinson have created history by becoming the first siblings to appear for Victoria in a first-class match for nearly 50 years.

The pair will not only play but will open the bowling for Victoria on day one of its Sheffield Shield clash against South Australia at the MCG after Bushrangers skipper Cameron White won the toss and elected to bowl.

Victoria's No.1 paceman Clint McKay was ruled out of the clash by the national selectors after being retained in the Australian squad for the third Test against the West Indies starting in Perth next Wednesday.

That left the Pattinsons to become the first brothers to play for Victoria in a first-class game since the Cowper brothers - Bob and David - in the 1960s.

I believe they'd sing "I've got you, that's all I want" as a dismissed batsman departed to the pavillion.

No it was 'I hope I never have to see you again'

Douggie Bollinger used another one the other day

'I see Red, I see Red, I see Red!'.

You blokes ''never cease to amaze me''.

If Tim and Neil played for Otago, you'd have to say ''that was my mistake''. They'd be well out of their home territory at Te Awamutu.

"History never repeats'', but I did go to see Tim again at the Gov a week or two ago.

Any others there?

Thanks Mal, but you have to always take the weather with you.

Especially in Melbourne, where you can get four seasons in one day.

etc, etc, etc.....

Enough is enough, back to the cricket ;)

Saw Mark Cosgrove at red square the other night drinking yellow cruisers.

Didn't realise he was a Pineapple Head.
