History shows sides with good faster bowlers can dominate cricket for elongated peroids
History shows sides that make non bouncing tar pitches or spinning decks have short term successes

Stumps on day 2 of the 3rd Test
Sri Lanka 393 (94.4 overs)
India 1/443 (79 overs) RR 5.60 rpo

Sehwag 284* n.o. off only 239 balls

I'm sure MAL will be excited by this run glut.

Sehwag only has to bat for 2 hours on the 3rd day for Laras' record to go.

JJs prediction India to make 5/1058 declared, Sehwag bld Murali 538

Sehwag is one man you don't want to bat for 100 overs as evidenced by this. There is no other batsmen in the world currently that is capable of doing what he can and what he has done here.

He is an absolute freak.

Did i hear right on the radio just then that if India win this test series they will jump into the NUMBER 1 TEST RANKING SPOT. If that's true what a f**king joke.

Why? Who would you have ahead of them?
India have beaten Australia at home and then drawn away in their last two series
Australia have lost 3 of their last 5 series, Poms lost to WI earlier this year, South Africa beat Australia but then lost to Australia.

I would have South Africa ahead of them, and more than likely Australia ahead of them.

When was the last series India won outside the sub continent?

You'd probably have a pretty valid argument for South Africa, whufc.
I understand the ratings systems can play tricks, but India have had the better of the last few series against Australia, and I don't think they've been given enough credit for that, so to me it doesn't feel right to rate Australia before Inida.

Gee I feel pretty sorry for that Mathews! All his teammates have interesting names like Paranavitana and Sangakkara and he has to settle for Angelo Mathews! ;)

I wonder if the spate of high scores in particular by India = roads
I cant see the pitches from here
But let me guess, little spin becoz the oppostion has arguably better spinners ?
By making it batting shoot outs, that would suit India who have arguably the better batsmen ?

When naming the man of the series , each curator must be in line
