Not sure why Ponting persisted with Watto who was clearly struggling.

Siddle's last over was a gem.

Suggest you look at his bowling in the last 12 months
His efforts as the 5th bowler is a big reason why AU murdered the Poms and won the Champs Cup in South Africa
Remember when Clarke and The Dave were the 5th bowlers, SA gave us a caning in Australia

Now back to that 2nd last over
Watson concedes 20
One of the most dumbest overs Ive seen in ODI
The only variation to that slow full toss wide of off was whether it went for 1 4 or 6

The last overs of each innings were sensational
SHARMA 1/1 in the 50th
SIDDLE about 1/4 in the 50th

Don't mean to be picky Mal but didn't Sharma's fantastic last over get him 2/1? Hussey and Lee by memory.

Siddles first 3 balls of the 48th over and the whole 49th over by Watto were the worst 9 balls I have ever seen to tailenders in one dayers.

FFS they bat low because they are average with the willow. Full and straight, particularly when they are swinging at everything.

Kudos to Siddles last over, great stuff under pressure.

Why didnt Lee bowl at the end? I know he leaks runs but doubt he would have gone for 20..

Anyway doesnt matter, still a W

Ponting backs Watson and Australia are starting to reap the benefits. It didn't work out too well last night near the end but it has paid dividends in the Ashes series and the Champions trophy in particular. You must be stoked mate and you must have noticed that the Watto jokes have now stopped.

If I get in the shit I'd like you in my corner any time.

The 47th over by Watson wasn't real good either, when Punter persisted for the 49th I hoped he would gert spanked to teach a lesson!! FFS, a guy playing international cricket can't even hit the pitch. He was shot to pieces, the look on his face before he commenced his run told it all.....Gee I hope I can hit the pitch!! Nup!!!!!!!!

And another LBW......do we have coaching staff or what?
Hi, My name is Ron 'Bluey' Dunn. Did you know I played in the 61 & 62 Tasman Premiership sides....

Of course we do, but coaching is always a work in progress. That's why the bastards never smile. As I said before, Australia has had more postivies out of Punter backing Watto than negatives. We've won our last five major series in One Dayers, we are one up away against the second ranked nation in the world with our vice captain and first choice wicket keeper injured yet you have chosen to be negative in your post.

Yep, he bowled carp, but we won. Play on.
