Well it was a strange decision. I would have thought that your best batsmen plays in all forms of the game.
Read my reply. It is directed at you because you have double standards

How can they be right ????
They dropped Klinger v TA
A selector when asked why KLINGER was dropped used the excuse that they wanted Smith in the team
What a load of absolute baloney that comment now is
Smith after 1 just 1 not 2 but 1 yes 1 repeat just 1 game and one failure is then dropped

And now Smith suffers the ignominity
And the run machine Klinger, after 2 games has made as many Franger Cup runs this season as Alexander The Great

No jackpot because this time he goes out to bat thinking about his spot not like last year just playing with freedom and expressing himself. Good job saca and Sorell stuff up another good player mentally!! Lets see how Smith is next hit after being dropped.

Most definitely a huge "Klinger Klanger"!  They have a bad habit of this sort of poor treatment of players.

There is such a thing as pre-season form, Klinger had none. The non-selection of him against Tas was the right decision, IMO.

Well, given none of us are close to the action it's hard to tell what sort of form he'd been showing. I would have picked him, but only because I only had last season's form to go on. But given that was 6 months ago it's not too hard to imagine he's not playing so well. Let's face it, he was an average player for some time before last season and then had a cracker. Wouldn't be the first, and won't be the last to have a one off season out of the box.

And the argument he's worried about his spot holds no credence either. He came here last year knowing his first class career was on a knife edge. A couple of early season failures last year could have seen the end of him. So you can't say use that argument IMHO.

I was just thinking exactly the same thing. Couldn't believe people were talking up the Ashes etc.. when he had one good year out of 10. Could have been a one-off.
