I hope thats that case. I also wouldn't mind it if Brett Lee doesn't either.

If they pick A.Symonds for the Ashes after the season he has had it will be the biggest joke in selection history.

This season's stats:

Sheffield Shield / Test cricket - 12 matches 364 runs at 18.20 (terrible for a top 6 batsman), 11 wickets at 24.18 (respectable for a 5th bowler)

Make a case for him someone ... If Punter had his favourites I hope that results in the last 3 tests have given him more confidence in the new guys

And he will again, as a batsmen though, his last two knocks have been tons is the same age as Fergy and I think you will find that Whites record as a batsmen is better, and Fergy is being touted as the next big thing. SPELLY if your bored I wouldnt mind having a look at Symonds runs aggerate for every year he has played Shield/Pura cup I think it would look pretty mediocre.

White is rubbish. The big goose gets his front foot planted in such a position that his bat has to go round the cape to make contact with the aggot. While you can get away with it at Domestic level at International level you can't. The run rate died in the arse every time the big goose came to the wicket. What is the use of being built like Chris Cairns if you hit the ball like Micheal Bevan (minus the placement).

Players such as Hodge and White may have got Victoria where they are today but they won't take Australia anywhere tomorrow.

Every time Cam White goes out to bat the commentators rave about how he can 'hit a big ball' .I have seen him hit one a long way, but not when he is 60 or 70, only when he is 20odd and out.

White should stick to 20/20 cricket.

Hate to say it but i think it's curtains for Roy!!!!
Although he is still the best batsman in the world to watch at full flight im not sure he is going to get there again..
There is no way he will be going to the ashes!!!

Symonds was kicked out of a Brisbane bar last night and you would think any slim chance of making the Ashes squad is now gone:

Just heard it on the news, but I think we would need a few more details before we hang him out to dry.

With that guy I would think the last thing we need is a few more details. How hard is it for him to actually stay out of trouble?

If his form were there you could be more lenient but his form isnt. Watson and McDonald both deserve to be ahead of him for an Ashes squad spot.

Watson is still a month away from bowling, would be too much of a risk too take him.

Finding out the facts before making a comment? That would be a departure for this forum wouldn't it?

Apparently he dropped a glass. People should be locked up for doing that

We really need to know all the facts.

I dont see any problems with what happened. Knocked a beer over and the whole group got told to leave not a big deal IMO. They left without any dramas. Surely people did not expect him to not have a beer at the end of year drinks with his teammates, after all he is a grown man and can surely make his own decisions.
