That list would be massive.
I'll do up another one of those who played one to five soon.

But you're right he never played Test cricket again... :D

It was Geoff Marsh's evil twin! :D

I did mean test cricket. However it's arguable (in hindsight) he shouldn't have been picked in that World Cup squad. He was out of that side by the end of the tournament and didn't play ODI for Australia after that either.

An interesting one is Dr.Roy Park. Apparently he only faced one ball in Test Cricket and was bowled first ball. Apparently his wife was sitting in the stands and was kntting when Park walked to the crease.

She dropped her wool, bent to pick it up, and missed her husband's entire Test career :)

Park also lead the VFL goalkicking after the minor round in 1913 or thereabouts. Amazing considering his club University did not win a match in that season.

Peter Allan played in the 1st Test of the 1965-66 series against England. After taking 10/61 in an innings for Queensland against Victoria he was included in the 4th Test team at Adelaide in place of Graham McKenzie. Allan pulled out of that Test due to injury and McKenzie took his place, taking 6/48 in the 1st Innings. So with ordinary luck, he would have played 2 Tests at least :)

Williams was a fast bowler from Vic who ended up at WA, got into the test team when all other injured then ended up broken down himself and quickly disappeared from 1st class level.

I've heard that story many a time and relate it myself when being a 'Cricket Geek' as my wife calls me.
However, is it apocryphal?

Be interesting to see what happens to the three blokes who debuted in this test. I think they'll at least get this three test series and be off the (one test) list pretty quick.
I expect with North's success and Johnston's run making, McDonald (I know there's still a lot of this test to go) will be stuck on two for a while.
Bollinger into the side for the next test.

Admittedly I'm a McDonald fan, but he'd need to bowl well, and get second innings runs.

Now he is capable of bowling well, but I doubt he'll get a second innings.

If he doesn't disgrace himself, I'd keep him in.

I couldn't believe they picked McDonald in the first place, and I certainly can't believe he's got a second Test. I simply don't think he's up to it. Only time will tell if you or I are right. I hope I'm wrong about him, but I just can't see what the selectors see.

McDonald is alrite at both doesnt stand out, but IMO James Hopes has done enough in the ODI arena and is a better at both batting and bowling then McDonald. Dont get me wrong i thought McDonald did a good job in Sydney and hope he does it over there in South Africa but i think Hopes is a bit hard done by

I always thought Ian Harvey was hard done by....

Then I found out after he retired, that he'd played the most games (ODI's) for Australia, without scoring a fifty, or taking a five-fer...

Not exactly kicking the door down.

Hopes hasn't exactly dominated either... Certainly did his job- really liked his bowling in the ODI series, but he hasn't kicked on....

Harvey always batted at 7 or 8 and in the team we had he wouldnt have had too many opportunities to bat for any more than a few overs. Also his job as a bowler was to keep it tight in the middle overs and at the death more than take a heap of wickets

Hopes game against NSW to date has been dominating to say the very least. He has out done symonds and watto altho they cant bowl
Hopes with the new ball in the first dig had figures of 4/80 off 27 overs.
he then made 55 with the bat and in the second innings to date he has 5/15 off 16 overs. NSW are 5/86.
Amazing game by Hopes and if he can finish this game of with a couple more wickets and the final round game with a like performance, he will certainly be hard to ignore come the ashes IMO
