But at the moment you'd think he'd be keeping his head down and avoiding public bars like the plague, especially ones with a reputation for trouble as 'interceptor' pointed out.

Exactly right. It annoys me that high profile sporting people who have been in the media for all the wrong reasons don't seem to understand the media are out there just waiting for them to slip up again.
Some even would resort to tactics of setting up the incident to give them something to write about. They're not interested in Symonds, just the story.
It's time sporting people learned this lesson, and Symonds would be better served staying out of public places, especially bars, for the time being.
It's all very well saying they should be allowed to have a drink in a bar like the average bloke. However, the average bloke hasn't just had a press conference telling the world of his problems with alcohol.
FFS Symo, get smart for a change.

Nope. f*** the media. Just because they report bullshit stories doesn't mean a bloke can't have a beer with his mates.
Even though Roy has admitted to struggling with alcohol during last year, doesn't give people the right to slander him because some drunken dickhead has a go at him. Wouldn't it be nice to see the media get behind our Aussie sports stars instead of pulling them down like pathetic overseas Tabloid newspapers. Once more, f*** the media.
