WTF? :?

Remember this is his first match back for quite sometime, he has been Australia's best batsman for the last year and because he got a doubtful call, you think he shouldn't be here, he is our best opener and has been for quite sometime and will continue to be for a while yet! :?

That Ponting knock was great viewing. You won't find knocks like that in a Twenty/20 match. With Watson, Haddin, White and the tail still to come and Hussey still in should pile on the runs tomorrow.

Katich deserves his spot, in fact he has done little wrong. In this era we have certain expectations of an opening bat, and while he may not meet all of these ie. high scoring rate/lots and lots of boundaries he is still a very useful player. The other test sides would love to have such a detirmined, dour batsman in their lineup.

Katich will be a very handy player in india, there lack of bounce in there pitches works in his favour. Im hoping he has a good series with the bat. Because hes not normally one we would rely on so by him having a good series, we would go very well!

Never write off a champion Strutpierre. Hayden was robbed yesterday (as was Ponting IMO) and that will make him one determinned batsman in the second dig. That's the thing about real cricket, you get a second chance to redeem yourself. He'll be back and walk away on his terms.

The Kat was solid as a rock yesterday. Not too sure about Filth as his technique looks a bit iffy to me. Katich is an unconventional player who might not be all that attractive to watch but the guy is a natural for the conditions and will have a good series. Kat's knock was an essential component in Punter's droughtbreaking ton yesterday. If Kat gets out early it's two for bugger all with the skipper under extreme pressure.

The year of the Kat continues!

Fantastic game of viewing day 1
Real cricket at its best
Pity about the very poor umpiring AGAIN marring a test between the 2 nations AGAIN
How many times was Ponting out b4 he was given LBW to a ball missing another set of stumps
Hayden given out b4 scoring C. AIR B. KHAN

FFS
They play 6 hours a day whats wrong with referring 10 decisions a day taking 10 minutes ???
Start the games 15 minutes earlier to allow for umpiring decisions

PS
hes in ....

Cheers Thiele. Their website said they didn't have the rights so I had to watch the ball by ball text version from cricinfo yesterday. Not a productive day at work at all :D
