Symonds-the highest paid of the IPL players.Yes.

Symonds-the most outspoken of the Aussie squad in the lead up to the Pakistan tour. The first to show/say he was reluctant to go.Yes.

I think there is something in that for all of us.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

Roy made his thoughts known on the Pakistan issue well before the IPL auction? Yes.

I agree with you there Rod, Symonds did make everyone aware of his thoughts on the tour of Pakistan well before he was auctioned off, but...

Symonds had made himself available for the IPL regardless of whether Australia embarked on the tour or not. He, and other players would have had a fair idea of what they were going to earn - in Symonds case it was obvious from the outset that he would easily go for $1million +
The fact that players had a general idea of what they thought they'd go for was highlighted when Ricky Ponting was so shocked that he went for so little - he was obviously expecting more.

Before the auction? Yes

Before he knew he'd obviously play a huge part in the auction and be quite rich because of it? Doubtful.

I would rather make quick bucks in the IPL than go to Pakistan and risk my life in that devastated country. I assume all of you knockers are booking Paki holidays this week?
