well unless one Nathan gets runs in the 2nd dig the selectors had better offer it to him

Heard some info today boys that sort of justifies Adcocks appointment over more senior players. Allegation of post curfew drinking on tour (when you have to play the next day) etc

Unfortunately for SA cricket supporters there is more pain ahead as things are going to get worse before they get better, whilst we try to find cricketers who are a) talented and b) want to work hard.

A real problem with the work ethic and playing culture amongst our senior players and as we all know perfect preparation prevents p*** (sorry Wedgie this cliche needs the swear word inserted) poor performance. And quite franckly our preparation is schitzenhousen ATM

A broom needs to be swept through our playing ranks and the appointment of our current leadership group probably reflects the coaches desire to appoint players in leadership positions who are willing to set a good example.

Hey I freely admit Adcock shouldn't be captain ATM but based on what i heard today I can now understand why he is. One can only hope some of the younger players can have break through seasons (Ferguson, Plant, Borgas etc) and they can become captain ASAP and justify their ongoing selection.

Either that we need to do some serious recruiting in the off-season.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

It was good to see Ferguson back and getting some runs in the first dig. Hopefully this can continue.

I'm growing tired of hearing that it's a gradual improvement. How long does Adcock and the rest of the squad want? Let's face it, we're dead set hopeless, have been for about 5 years and we'll probably be bad for another 5 years.

In 2005/2006 the Redbacks were not the laughing stock as we are now. The record is far from the disgrace that last years was.
2005/06 10 played 4 won outright 1 won 1st inn 2 lost 1st inn 3 lost outright
2006/07 10 played 1 won outright 2 won 1st inn 1 lost 1st inn 6 lost outright
2007/08 3 played 0 won outright 0 won 1st inn 0 lost 1st inn 3 lost outright

We have already lost as many games outright this season as 2005/06

As Elvis once sang
" ITS NOW OR NEVER."
I think Nath has 2 games left to contribute
As for the next game v WA
He is lucky he is skipper or he might be playing grade cricket this week
I really hope he can have a good game

he should be playing anyway mal, its mid-game and all State players were named to play the 2nd week. generally its the bowlers who have difficulty getting a release especially if their club is fielding this week like Gillespie's

Giving the captaincy to someone who has not been able to hold down a spot despite 5 years of trying was always going to be dangerous..............ya reap what ya sow.

until something happens with our grade cricket which is s**t the redbacks will go further down. we have been fed about our young talent for 3 years but i dont see much of it. the guys are just not up to it or dont have quality cricket week in week out. SACA just have to drop sides from grade cricket or the clubs themselves have to think about the bigger picture which is strong state side or they may be defunct in years to come themselves or playing in ATCA

This sums it up for me.

Why give the captaincy to someone who's got an average of about 25 and hasn't even cemented their spot in the side?

We're not in any position to be taking risks.
