Was just listening to this match on the ABC app while doing bath and bed time with kids and Jason Gillespie said tickets into the grassy areas of the ground is $2.80 Australian and a half pint of beer is $2.20 Australian.

You’d have to build our stadiums 10 times bigger if they were the prices here.

Imagine how much beer they’d sell on a 40 degree day at $2.80.

MAFS on the TV and Cricket on the tablet for me. ;) Haven't really watched MAFS the past 3 seasons since having kids with the show being on at clean up after dinner/bath/bed time.

Khawaja is the oldest man to score a hundred for Australia since Steve Waugh in 2003.

Smith with 35 test hundreds now, goes past Lara, Jayawardene, Younis Khan and Gavaskar and is now one behind Root and Dravid.

Smith 10,000 runs stats/analysis-

Bit of a change to see a side only 2 down at the end of the first day, instead of adding that one side had already been bowled out.

Khawaja, Head and Smith have each scored 10 fours and 1 six to this point of the match.

Smith ran a 3 to bring up his Ton ;)

Khawaja 147* off 210 Not bad for not being able to get it off the square ;)

Likely that the decks will have more spin than the Gee Whiz

I think the West Indies showed that the home team preparing "Gee Whiz" pitches doesn't mean certain success by knocking off Pakistan

NZ also clean Swept India on their Gee Whizzes 3 zip

Australia would be $1.01 if the series was played in Australia
I dont think a Gee Whiz pitch is necessarily enough to bridge the gap between the 2 teams
. ;)

We were worlds apart last time we toured and they absolutely pantsed us in the 2nd test.

I know it was Day 1 and Aust will face a tougher examination of spin as the match goes on but fair dinkum Sri Lanka today looked like a 3rd Grade SACA Premier Team
Their only plan that was partially successful was for a short time to restrict the scoring by bowling 2 foot outside Leg Stump to a packed Leg side Field  Aust should make 600 then declare and roll these muppets by an Innings

You’re being completely disrespectful to SACA 3rd grade teams. From what I saw today it was like watching bowling at one of those random get together games you see in the parklands during July.
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

Let's face it though, we could've batted reverse order against that snot.

I still maintain that Konstas should've opened and Head bat at 5.

Usi
Konstas
Lab
Smith
Head
Nikki
Carey
Billy
Starc
Gaz
Kuhnemann

Would've put a bit more experience into 4 new players including one debutant without hindering our batting or bowling stocks.

**Having said that, you watch Harry Potter be our most successful bowler now.

No wonder crowds in places like Sri Lanka are so low. Got to be up there as one of the most boring days of test cricket I've seen since some of those Pakistan tests.

Watching it nearly inspired me to dig out the old PS1 to play Cricket 2004.
