Need to get the line and length right next session.

The saffers batting line up seems to be one which will grind and wear the bowling attack out rather than explosive batting which takes the game away in one session.

Anything less than 2 wickets next session and we are in serious trouble obvious hey

LBW shout given not out, went to DRS showed it was out, but pitched just outside the line and went to Umpires call which was of course not out.

no drs didnt show it was out, drs showed it was close - in which case it stays with the onfield umpire

In this case, was the decision not because the umpire thought it didn't hit the boot?
Hence the not out call?

that is actually a very interesting point, there have been cases where lbw's have been given not out by the umpire becuase they thought the ball was too high. but on drs the ball was shown to be hitting the stumps but was an umpires call of whether or not it was hit outside the line, so not out stood even though the part that the onfield ump was questioning was deemed out.

i wonder if the system could be improved more if the umpire gave his not out reasoning and that is the aspect checked most

May z it wasn't given not out because where it was pitched, it was given not out because where it hit his foot. Two completely different things

Looked dead-set plumb, DRS showed it crashing into middle and off, it hit inline with the stumps, just not within the different strike zone this time around.
The zone has been shifted to be measured between the centre of the off and leg stump now. So last year, that was out.
