So the rest of the players at TTG are wankers who don't acknowledge those who support them?

What does SACA do? Give some local youth a shot and now they bagged again.

What do we want, immediate success from youth?

I agree totally, as I posted last night... Can't have it both ways...

Perhaps the SACA should get our seal of approval for any future debutants.

People on here like to bag people, then praise them when they do well.... they really have NFI half the time

As for local 'talent' v import. Im happy Trav to get a crack, he actually does his craft well unlike Cam Williams. I have nothing personal against Cam but the fact that he doesnt do his craft well at all means his selection is baffling...... He is a B grade bowler that got thrown to wolves and got his pants pulled down.

Agreed, more than happy for Trav to get a crack, hope we persist with him but Williams didnt warrant selection and as you have stated, why would you pick a b grade bowler, just simply not up to it ATM. Hopefully he goes back and performs in the a grade and comes back stronger.

exactly, if he had 10-12 A grade wickets - no problem..... but what we saw was embarrassing for not on SA but for Cam personally.

Yep exactly my perspective as well, from what i have heard read etc etc Trav Head selection is worthy where Cam Williams has done nothing at any real level to deserve state selection.

FWIW have heard the same about Trav being an awesome lad from a few blokes at our club who have played with him at TTG.

I agree too, perhaps they looked too much into Cam's futures league performances, perhaps he too was a bit too nervous, being a leggy would be the hardest discipline to master with a gut full of butterflies, look at Muirhead in the T20.

It's cricket. Even Warney got smashed.

So Williams got the yips, and got belted by Quiney.

His two overs at the end were a touch better.

I would have him and George operating in tandem, just to give him the chance to prove why he's been picked.

Obviously if they start to cane him, you drag him, and if we don't lose by an innings, give him a chance on an older pitch later in the game.

Rather see the young lads have a bash and get bashed, than the imports, unless the imports are dominant.

Williams' selection is exactly what we have been crying out for for the last few years.

Na Williams selection isnt what we have been after, we want kids who are performing and are half a chance to be up to the level to be given a crack.

I've had a think about yesterday and come to this conclusion:

The Williams selection was a terrible one. SACA dropped him in the deep end hoping he would swim and he sunk.
In saying that, are we any worse off? Really? Williams would know he didn't bowl well, but we've got to give these kids an opportunity at some stage.
The season is basically lost anyway, I would rather our kids getting smashed, dropping catches etc than have some import doing it.
While they are on the national stage, they will cop criticism, and Williams' performance yesterday can't escape that.

So, the whingers are right. Williams isn't up to it - yet.
But he has huge scope to improve and as long as he's keen to stick at it, I'm happy to see a kid from our state wear the Redbacks cap and give it everything he's got each week.

I say bugger it! Give them a go for the rest of the year. I will cringe with every rank full-toss or short ball and if he doesn't improve, then make the call to cull him.

BTW: There's a kid playing for TTG in the B and C grade, Shaun Reilly. Really liked his work at Loxton, lands them often and has a good wrong-un.
If they're giving Cam Williams a go, they might want to have a look at Reilly too.

Reills is a good kid, missed out on the state 19s this year but working on his game. Caleb Graeber and funky Miller were the U19 spinners this year.

Couldnt believe how much Shauns control improved from last yr, seems to be getting through his delivery now too. I see he got a 5 fa at B grade level last week. Hopefully a few more gd performances there and he might get an A grade cap.
