Did he bat well for his 88.

Yeah. Was dropped on a difficult chance and edged one to keeper and not given out but apart from that looked good. Mainly shots square through the off but played some great shots off Steyn. His defence looked a lot more solid

according to commentary on cricinfo he played a lot of streaky shots

Crap.
1 or 2 maybe.
Most of his shots were crunched square on the off

Pitch played true and new ball didnt do much.
Hughes will always struggle on seaming decks

Dont understand the Saffers tactics. They have finally got the ball doing something and the pitch is playing tricks but they are peppering a guy who is 5ft tall with bouncer after bouncer. Usie is just ducking under them.

Of the 51 Australians to score 2000 test runs, only Shane Warne (zero) has scored less centuries than Watson

Watto gone for 88 aswell
Caught in the deep by Tahir, good catch
Watson doesnt convert another 50 but good innings considering his injury

Australia v South Africa (2nd Test)

Postby the joker » Fri Nov 18, 2011 10:51 pm

This could be the last test of our second best cricketer,
A bit of symmetry that don bradman got dismissed for a duck on his second ball in his last test,
But I hope he gets the New Zealand series to resurrect his career
